10. School Security Regional Collaboration Committee User Group Meeting

The Mid-Hudson Regional Information Center (MHRIC) is pleased to invite you to the Fall School Security Regional Collaboration Committee (SSRCC) User Group Meeting. This session will focus on review and training for existing security technology, including an important discussion regarding the ISONAS end of life, as well as a demonstration on a new "Vaping and Bullying" detection device.

Please join us on November 3, 2017 from 9:00-12:00 at the SSRCC User Group Meeting at the Ulster BOCES Conference Center. Schools who participate in the Security Technology CoSer will have a unique opportunity to receive additional training on existing technologies, as well as understanding district options for the future of the ISONAS Security System.

14. Mail Merge with Google Docs using autoCrat

autoCrat is a mail merge tool. It is a free add-on for Google Sheets. In this class, we will use autoCrat to create customized letters from a document template in Google Docs, and a data source from Google Sheets. These customized letters can then be shared, emailed, and/or printed from your Google account. autoCrat can be used in combination with Google Forms to automate customized emails triggered by a Form entry. 22. Chromebook Overview "Slice"

Our "slices" will offer 45 minutes of application training content followed by 15 minutes of group discussion. Participants access these online training sessions from their own location. They will be emailed a link to an online meeting place where they can view and listen to the various "slice" offerings by the MHRIC trainers. Several audio options are provided in order to allow the participants to communicate with the trainer and others in attendance. A Chromebook is a tablet that boots up in about eight seconds, and is optimized for internet use. In this session, we will see how to open, save, and delete files that are saved to the device, as well as saved to Google Drive, and how to pin and unpin apps and web pages to the Shelf. We will familiarize ourselves with the differences on the Chromebook keyboard, and learn some handy keyboard shortcuts. We will also see how to set up different accounts to share the same device among different individuals. 33. Master Schedule Builder Workshop

Participants in this comprehensive workshop will learn to build a Master Schedule that will accommodate the needs of students, teachers and staff. Attendees, even experienced schedulers, consistently comment on the quality of the content and the value of attending this workshop. The Master Schedule Building Workshop begins with an overview of the Master Schedule construction basics including planning, curriculum, course selection and decision making. The afternoon session on the first day will lead you through the actual step-by-step construction of a school Master Schedule. Various scheduling alternatives such as interdisciplinary teaming and block scheduling will be included. During day two you will learn to analyze a scheduling run and manually manipulate the placement of sections to reduce conflict and improve class balance. The workshop will conclude with a "hands-on" scheduling exercise. This scheduling workshop is not associated with any computer program. The skills and techniques presented can be applied to any scheduling program. You are encouraged to bring your computer to this workshop to participate in some of the online exercises. A limited number of computers are available. Please indicate during the registration process if you will be bringing your computer. This workshop is designed for all staff members at your site involved in the scheduling process. It is an excellent opportunity to learn and share ideas. Please share this information with others you feel may benefit from this workshop. All MLP enrolled registrants will be sent a cost proposal to have signed by the district's Business Official or Superintendent and returned to the MHRIC. Pivot Tables are tables in Excel that summarize data. They allow you to filter out selected data from a main table in order to show only the records you specify. The ADA (American with Disabilities Act) Standards state that information technology, which includes web content, must be accessible to people with disabilities. In this slice, we will address the basics of accessible web content by demonstrating how to create well-structured and accessible Word documents and Adobe PDF's. We will also show you how to use Adobe Acrobat Pro DC's Accessibility Tools to check documents for accessibility and to fix problems.

This class introduces the student to a free on-line print production program. Lucidpress is used to create professional looking publications such as newsletters, booklets, and flyers.
