1. Excel Charts

Illustrate your data with great looking charts! During this class you will learn to create, edit, and format charts, and work with different types. Creating and working with charts in Excel is easier than you might think and actually is quite fun.

Prerequisites: Excel Introduction Part 1 or equivalent experience and knowledge of spreadsheets.

2. Google Drive Overview "Slice"

Program: Technology Support Service

Meeting Times: 10:30 - 11:30 a.m.

Our "slices" will offer 45 minutes of application training content followed by 15 minutes of group discussion. Participants access these online training sessions from their own location. They will be emailed a link to an online meeting place where they can view and listen to the various "slice" offerings by the MHRIC trainers. Several audio options are provided in order to allow the participants to communicate with the trainer and others in attendance.

In this "slice" we will learn how to use Google Drive. Topics will include: how files are stored in drive; organizing files in folders; creating documents; and collaborating with others using shared documents.

Prerequisite: Some experience with internet browsers is helpful.

Do you need to know more of the basics on how to work with functions and formulas in Excel? In this class, we will use some of Excel's built-in functions like: If, Proper, Vlookup, Max, Min, PMT, Average, DCount, count, countA, as well as build some of our own specialized formulas like weighted averages. We will include a review of Order of Operations and Relative and Absolute Cell Referencing.

Prerequisite: Excel Introduction or equivalent experience.

Add interest, color, and excitement to your documents with the use of drawing and graphics in Word! Topics in this "slice" will include: adding, arranging, and formatting text boxes; inserting pictures; drawing AutoShapes; formatting objects; layering, shadows and 3-D; and using WordArt.

8. Google Forms

Program: Technology Support Service

With Google Forms, you can quickly create a form or survey; send it to students, parents, teachers, or staff; embed it in a webpage; and keep track of the answers in one spreadsheet. This session will give you an overview of developing a form and creating the spreadsheet that will allow you to sort, analyze, and visualize the information.

9. Master Schedule Builder Workshop

Program: Student Services

Dates: 12/6/2017 to 12/7/2017

Meeting Times: 12/6: 8:30 - 4:00 12/7: 8:30 - 3:00

Participants in this comprehensive workshop will learn to build a Master Schedule that will accommodate the needs of students, teachers and staff. Attendees, even experienced schedulers, consistently comment on the quality of the content and the value of attending this workshop. The Master Schedule Building Workshop begins with an overview of the Master Schedule construction basics including planning, curriculum, course selection and decision making. The afternoon session on the first day will lead you through the actual step-by-step construction of a school Master Schedule. Various scheduling alternatives such as interdisciplinary teaming and block scheduling will be included. During day two you will learn to analyze a scheduling run and manually manipulate the placement of sections to reduce conflict and improve class balance. The workshop will conclude with a "hands-on" scheduling exercise. This scheduling workshop is not associated with any computer program. The skills and techniques presented can be applied to any scheduling program. You are encouraged to bring your computer to this workshop to participate in some of the online exercises. A limited number of computers are available. Please indicate during the registration process if you will be bringing your computer. This workshop is designed for all staff members at your site involved in the scheduling process. It is an excellent opportunity to learn and share ideas. Please share this information with others you feel may benefit from this workshop. All MLP enrolled registrants will be sent a cost proposal to have signed by the district's Business Official or Superintendent and returned to the MHRIC. To complete your Registration for this event you will need to fax (845-255-9104) or scan the signed cost proposal and return to Donna Restaino (drestaino@mhric.org).

12. nVISION Custom Reporting

This class is intended for any nVISION user that needs to know how to create custom reports within nVISION. You will learn how to create basic custom reports, how to format your reports and also learn special tools to filter and tabulate your reports.

13. Frontline IEP New User Training - SESSION 1

The Mid-Hudson Regional Information Center (MHRIC) is offering Frontline IEP Training for NEW Users. This training is intended for NEW Special Education office staff and BOTH SESSIONS 1 & 2 should be attended.

Topics to be covered in SESSION 1 include: 1). Complete Overview of Frontline IEP Navigation 2). Understanding the "My Student" screen 3). Understanding the "Student Details" screen and Entering Data 4). Adding New Students and Creating Drafts 5). Scheduling Meetings and processing Letters/Reports

This class introduces the student to a free on-line print production program. Lucidpress is used to create professional looking publications such as newsletters, booklets, and flyers. Typical topics to be covered may include: creating a publication using templates, making changes, inserting graphics.

16. Word Long Documents, Manuals, & Handbooks

In this class we will gain a better understanding of how to work with lengthy documents in Word. We will look at the tools and features to make working with large documents easier. Some of the topics we will cover are: working with page numbering in a document with multiple sections, creating a Table of Contents and an Index, using Styles, working with Tables that span multiple pages, creating Bookmarks, Cross-references and more.

17. Excel Pivot Tables "Slice"

Pivot Tables are tables in Excel that summarize data. They allow you to filter out selected data from a main table in order to show only the records you specify. Topics in this slice will include learning how to create and modify Pivot Tables and Pivot Charts.

18. Making ADA Accessible Documents "Slice" ***NEW***

The ADA (American with Disabilities Act) Standards state that information technology, which includes web content, must be accessible to people with disabilities. In this "slice" we will address the basics of accessible web content by demonstrating how to create well-structured and accessible Word documents and Adobe PDF's. We will also show you how to use Adobe Acrobat Pro DC's Accessibility Tools to check documents for accessibility and to fix problems.

The software products we support have added value to our districts' everyday lives and we have always strived to listen to our districts' software and support needs, while providing the best software products with the highest quality.

In the spirit of this, we are excited to announce a demonstration of two additional software products. We are considering this expansion to our current Special Education & Response to Intervention software suite of products. As a partner school district, your feedback would be of the utmost importance in making this decision.

Clear Track 200 is a highly cost effective, web-based Special Education management tool for school districts and boasts a user friendly interface. Clear Track 200 was designed by teachers for teachers and includes data management and reporting all within one easy-to-use system. This Special Education management software specializes in New York State customizable and compliant IEP's, with letter templates and the ability to provide query reporting of historical data.

RTI Edge is a complete Response to Intervention data tracking and analysis tool and is a perfect complement to Clear Track 200. Although RTI Edge can be used as a stand-alone software, this product gives school districts the ability to easily identify and monitor struggling learners and their unique skill deficits with easy-to-use graphing and tracking solutions. This allows staff to make informed decisions based on real data and the ability to predict student success
