October BEDs Day Snapshot Zoom Meeting

The Mid-Hudson Regional Information Center (MHRIC) is offering data preparation Zoom Meetings for districts required to submit the October BEDs Day snapshot. We encourage your district to include members of the special education office staff responsible for entering data into Frontline IEP, as well as a special education administrator responsible for certifying the data in the PD System.

3. Annual Review Workshop - Special Circumstances (Fall 2024)

The Mid-Hudson Regional Information Center (MHRIC) Special Services team is offering specialized workshops reviewing frequently asked questions and best practices related to annual review meetings. These workshops are intended for special education office staff that are responsible for the maintenance and reporting of student Individualized Education Programs in Frontline IEP.

Topics to cover include: reevaluations, exiting seniors, end-of-year declassifications, parentally placed & homeschooled students, mass draft creation, and mass date changes.

4. Master Schedule Builder (VIRTUAL) Workshop - Secondary Schools

The Mid-Hudson Regional Information Center (MHRIC) is hosting a two-day Master Schedule Builder Workshop virtually on December 11 & 12, 2024. Participants in this comprehensive workshop will learn to build a Master Schedule that will accommodate the needs of students, teachers and staff. Attendees, even experienced schedulers, consistently comment on the quality of the content and the value of attending this workshop.

The Master Schedule Builder Workshop begins with an overview of the Master Schedule construction basics including planning, curriculum, course selection and decision making. The afternoon session on the first day will lead you through the actual step-by-step construction of a school Master Schedule. Various scheduling alternatives such as interdisciplinary teaming and block scheduling will be included. During day two, you will learn to analyze a scheduling run and manually manipulate the placement of sections to reduce conflict and improve class balance. The workshop will conclude with a hands-on scheduling exercise.

This scheduling workshop is not associated with any computer program. The skills and techniques presented can be applied to any scheduling program.

This workshop is designed for all staff members involved in the scheduling process at the secondary level. It is an excellent opportunity to learn and share ideas.

All MLP enrolled registrants will be sent a cost proposal to be signed by your district's Business Official or Superintendent. To complete your Registration for this event, you will need to scan the signed cost proposal and return it to Donna Restaino (drestaino@mhric.org).

The registration fee for this two day workshop is $450 per person.

PLEASE NOTE: If you drop within 7 days of the event and have signed a budget amendment, the district will still be financially responsible. A Zoom link will be emailed to all registrants the afternoon before the event.

27. Google Forms - Getting Started

Program: Office Professional Training

This class will be ninety minutes of interactive instruction. There will be exercises and feedback given through screen sharing. The instructor will be available for 15 minutes afterward for an optional Q&A.

- Demo filling out a Google Form which displays each type of question available in forms
- Create a new form
- Create questions using the different question types
- Look at question options such as: add Title and Description, add Image, add Section
- Look at Settings options
- Preview the Form
- Send the form to be filled out vs Sharing the form with collaborators
- Look at Responses Summary and Responses Spreadsheet

Prerequisite: Some experience with Google Sheets and internet browsers is helpful.

This class is free to employees of district members of the Office Professional Training (OPT) CoSer. Check our website for current members (https://www.mhric.org/offerings/opt-districts). We encourage you to speak to your district regarding membership in this service.

If your district is not a current member or if you are a community resident, you may still participate. Register at least five business days before the class and choose the appropriate payment option. (District PO: a budget amendment form is emailed to your business office.) Checks or signed amendments must be received at least 24 hours prior to the start of the class.
