1. Asynchronous and ongoing- Dignity for All Students Act (DASA) (for July-June 25/26)

Program: DASA 6-Hour Certification

Audience: anyone seeking NYS Certification

Beginning January 1, 2014, all persons applying to the NYS Education Department for an adminstrative or supervisory service, classroom teaching service, or school service certificate or license, must complete six (6) hours of coursework or training in harassment, bullying, and discrimination prevention and intervention. The training is designed to provide participants with the knowledge and skills needed to create an affirming school environment for all students. This class must be paid for ahead of time. No credit card payments can be accepted. Checks may be sent to HFM BOCES 2755 StHwy 67, Johnstown, NY 12095 Att: Instructional Services. If your district is supplying payment they will be billed. 2. Collaborative Library Mentoring

Audience: School Librarians

Held once a month, these one-hour virtual sessions are designed for newer librarians, teaching assistants, and teachers overseeing a library. Each session provides an opportunity to learn, reflect, and collaborate on topics unique to the school library program. These collaborative sessions will help participants develop the skills, confidence, and connections needed to support students and educators through a dynamic, inclusive, and future-ready library program.

3. Building Thinking Classroom Book Study

Audience: Anyone who wants to try the BTC strategies in their classroom. (Not just math)

Student difficulty with mathematics has been a pervasive and systemic problem since the advent of public education-not because students can't learn mathematics, but because, by and large, students can't learn it by being told how to do it. Research has shown that within a 60-minute lesson, 20% of students spent 8-12 minutes thinking, while 80% spent zero minutes thinking. This is a problem. This is what has been missing. Thinking is a necessary precursor to learning, and if students are not thinking, they are not learning. In the book Building Thinking Classrooms by Peter Liljedahl each chapter explores one of the 14 optimal practices, beginning with a deep dive into what are the institutionally normative practices that permeate many classrooms around the world. It reveals how each of these practices is working against our efforts to get students to think, and then it offers a clear presentation of what the research revealed to be the optimal practice for each variable. By the end of the book teachers will have a space that is inhabited by thinking individuals as well as individuals thinking collectively, learning together, and constructing knowledge and understanding through activity and discussion. 7. Using Word Connections: A Multisyllabic Word Reading Intervention for Students in the Intermediate Grades

In this session we will examine Word Connections: A Multisyllabic Word Reading Intervention for Students in the Intermediate Grades. While decoding instruction tends to be reduced in the upper elementary grades, text is becoming more complex and the number of multisyllabic words that students encounter increase dramatically in third grade and beyond. Students who experience reading challenges often lack a systematic approach for decoding these words. Word Connections is a FREE 40 day program. Students who participated in the intervention showed greater gains in word reading and decoding, reading comprehension, spelling, and accurate reading of both isolated affixes and multisyllabic words. Let me show you how to use it!

29. Building a Better Bell Ringer

Teaching is a profession that demands constant giving of our time, energy, and emotion. In this book study of Let Them by Mel Robbins, we will explore how the "Let Them Theory” can transform your mindset, relationships, and resilience in the classroom and beyond. In this book study we will learn how to let go of unnecessary stress, perfectionism, and control which creates more space for what truly matters: authentic teaching, connection, and joy in your work. The themes of self-awareness and emotional regulation are heavily regarded in this book. We will be looking at it through the lens of teaching through daily classroom realities, whether it's managing student behavior, responding to change, or navigating school culture. Together, we'll explore how "letting them” can actually empower us: letting students struggle productively, letting colleagues differ, and letting ourselves rest and reset. Math is hard. At least that's what I thought when I was in school. It's what many students feel in your classroom everyday. We can help change that with an open-mindset and a full understanding of mathematics instruction and teaching. This full-day professional learning experience brings together the eight NYSED Numeracy Briefs into a cohesive exploration of effective mathematics teaching and learning. 33. 2026 FCMEA All County Festival Observation Hours at Gloversville Middle School

It's that time of year again for the annual Fulton County Music Educators All-County Festival. Throughout the festival, guest conductors from around the state will be working with our county students to prepare a concert. Rote memorization of these words leaves out word study which doesn't allow for students to see the connections between letters and sounds. How can we turn behavior into a teachable moment?The Restorative Practices Playbook details a set of practices designed to teach prosocial behaviors based on strong relationships and a commitment to the well-being of others. Implementing restorative practices establishes a positive academic and socio-emotional learning environment while building students' capacity to self-regulate, make decisions, and self-govern, the very skills students need to achieve. This essential playbook arms educators with the reflection prompts, tools, examples, and strategies needed to create restorative practices around several key concepts:



• A restorative school culture, grounded in respect, that builds agency and identity, establishes teacher credibility, sets high expectations, and fosters positive relationships.



• Restorative conversations that equip adults and students with the capacity to resolve problems, make decisions, and arrive at solutions in ways that are satisfactory and growth-producing.

53. Word Connections: A Multisyllabic Word Reading Intervention for Students in the Upper Elementary-9th grade (Asynchronous)

This is an asynchronous Professional Development. In this session we will examine Word Connections: A Multisyllabic Word Reading Intervention for Students in the Intermediate Grades. While decoding instruction tends to be reduced in the upper elementary grades, text is becoming more complex and the number of multisyllabic words that students encounter increase dramatically in third grade and beyond. Students who experience reading challenges often lack a systematic approach for decoding these words. Word Connections is a FREE 40 day program. Students who participated in the intervention showed greater gains in word reading and decoding, reading comprehension, spelling, and accurate reading of both isolated affixes and multisyllabic words. Let me show you how to use it!
