The WinCap Basics Training session will cover the essential basic procedures for utilizing the WinCap application. We will address the standards and conventions that are employed throughout the WinCap application, regardless of the functional areas an individual will be using.

The Mid-Hudson Regional Information Center (MHRIC) Special Services team is offering specialized workshops reviewing frequently asked questions and best practices related to annual review meetings. These workshops are intended for special education office staff that are responsible for the maintenance and reporting of student Individualized Education Programs in Frontline IEP.

Topics to cover include: reevaluations, exiting seniors, end-of-year declassifications, parentally placed & homeschooled students, mass draft creation, and mass date changes.

52. Google Forms - Tips & Tricks

This class will be forty-five minutes of interactive instruction. The instructor will be available for 15 minutes afterward for an optional Q&A.

Prerequisite: Some experience with Google Forms.

This class is free to employees of district members of the Office Professional Training (OPT) CoSer. Check our website for current members (https://www.mhric.org/offerings/opt-districts). We encourage you to speak to your district regarding membership in this service.

If your district is not a current member or if you are a community resident, you may still participate. Register at least five business days before the class and choose the appropriate payment option. (District PO: a budget amendment form is emailed to your business office.) Checks or signed amendments must be received at least 24 hours prior to the start of the class.

53. Google Sheets - Restrict Parts of a Sheet

This class will be one hour of interactive instruction. There will be exercises and feedback given through screen sharing. The instructor will be available for 15 minutes afterward for an optional Q&A.

Hiding/Unhiding sheets in a Google Sheet
- Who can hide/unhide sheets
- Where to see that there are hidden sheets
Restrict editing (Protect) Sheets and Cells in a Google Sheet
- How to open the Protected Sheets & Ranges panel
- Protect an entire sheet, a sheet except for certain cells, or a set of cells or a range in a sheet
- Set separate permissions for protected cells for other editors
- Allow editing but set a warning message
- See which cells/ranges are restricted
Share only specific column(s) from one Google Sheet to another

54. Google Docs And Sheets - Smart Chips, Building Blocks And Dropdowns

Program: Office Professional Training

This class will be forty-five minutes of interactive instruction. The instructor will be available for 15 minutes afterward for an optional Q&A.

Smart Chips
- Insert smart chips in your Google Doc to include information about: dates, people, files, Google Calendar events, places, and more
- Hover or click on a chip to get more information
- Insert placeholder chips (Docs only) for editors to add the information later

Building Blocks
- Email or Calendar drafts, table templates of different types with prebuilt placeholders and dropdown menus

Dropdowns
- Insert dropdowns to reduce time and errors
- Create your own or use preset choices
- If changing existing data in a Sheet to a table, Sheets will automatically create dropdowns (these can be edited)
- In Sheets, choose to reject entries that aren't on menu, or just give a warning
- Add, edit or rearrange the dropdown menus
