1. RBE-RN ELL Title III Consortium: ELL Administrators Annual Meeting and Professional Development

Participants will engage in foundational learning around co-teaching non-negotiables, models of co-teaching, establishing roles, responsibilities, and routines. We will discuss how to accomplish this both in person and in remote learning settings.

We will hold a live session Monday, July 13th from 10am-11am and Thursday, July 23rd from 10am-11am. These live sessions will count as 2 of the 4 hours, with the remaining hours completed via asynchronous work in Google Classroom.

In this session, participants will uncover the hallmarks of developing students' identities as readers. We will do a deep dive into the topic briefs written by Nonie K. Lesaux, PhD. Participants will engage in asynchronous assignments in Seesaw.

Participants will earn 3 CTLE credits for completing this course. Maximum of 30 participants.

In this asynchronous workshop we will examine how to incorporate student collaboration and discussion in a blended learning classroom. Ideas will be drawn from the book Illuminate: Technology Enhanced Learning by Bethany Petty.

Second language acquisition, levels of language proficiency, and an introduction to culturally responsive and sustaining pedagogy will be discussed in this one hour session.

9. RBERN - Literacy for ELLs (Part 3) - 2 week window- CTLE Provider #23007

Audience: K-12 Teachers of ELLs

Dates: 8/3/2020

During this asynchronous course, participants will explore resources for addressing the components of balanced literacy in a remote learning setting.

This will include a series of webinars to review resources and remote learning spaces as well as opportunities to record examples and practice applying new ideas into usable lesson elements.

Participants will engage in many apps, websites, and Chrome extensions, including Screencastify, YouTube, EdPuzzle, Book Creator, and more!

Upon successful completion of all course components, participants will earn 5 CTLE credits.

Maximum of 40 participants.
This session is for administrators of ELL programs to examine the 2019 data for English language learners in WNY and will provide an overview of NYS initiatives and guidance as we prepare for the new school year under the continuing concerns related to the COVID-19 crisis.

This workshop is for multilingual speakers interested in interpreting and translating in educational settings.

Participants will be provided structures and the resources to be effective in any educational interpreting or translating assignment.
