Utilizing NYSED topic briefs, participants will explore advanced literacy strategies tailored for English Language Learners (ELLs), and gain understanding of the science of reading.

Participants will then integrate their learning with The Reading League Summit's Joint Statement, "Understanding the Difference: The Science of Reading and Implementation for English Learners/Emergent Bilinguals (ELs/EBs).”

This flexible course allows participants to progress at their own pace.

Participants can earn 4-12 CTLE credit hours

In this session, participants will explore the NYSED-defined proficiency levels for English Language Learners (ELLs) and gain insight into typical language acquisition processes.

Building on this foundation, we'll examine frameworks for scaffolding instruction based on students' language needs and explore practical strategies for differentiation to support meaningful access to learning for all ELLs.

This is an asynchronous learning experience, with self-paced, online modules.

The required components of the course take approximately 3 hours.

Participants will have access to three optional modules to extend their learning.

Based on how many modules are completed, participants may receive 3-6 CTLE credits
