In this three-day, yearlong workshop, Betsy and Theresa will help your district improve student achievement through a regional collaboration of empowered teacher leaders by means of a deeper understanding of state, local, and classroom data and its use.
Outcomes:
Participants will be data leaders on their instructional teams.
Participants and their colleagues will use data regularly to inform instructional practices and intervention.
The driving question for each session will be, "What is my part?” For example, "What is my part in the current data? How can I create lessons that promote student engagement? What is my part in the consistency of formatively assessing my students?”
This collaborative opportunity allows for multiple pathways: one for math teachers and another for non-math department chairs, grade level lead teachers, and instructional coaches. Each day, we will meet as a whole group and then break into the two respective groups for planning and application.
Session 1: Participants will be able to review student achievement data and engage in productive conversations around that data.
Session 2: Participants will learn about a variety of standardized data reports, make intentional data report selections, and use that data to make informed decisions about student needs.
Session 3: Participants will review shared data and develop plans for targeted instruction, reteaching, and intervention.
