1. Fundations Multi-Level Virtual Launch Workshop

This one day, virtual, Fundations Multi-Level Launch Workshop provides the practice and guidance needed for educators to effectively begin teaching the Fundations curriculum for the designated Level. Teachers should attend the workshop level that corresponds to the program level being implemented. As a result from attending this training, participants will be able to: Identify the skills taught in their designated Fundations Level, such as, but not limited to: print awareness; phonological awareness; phonemic awareness and the alphabetic principle; sound mastery; phonics; vocabulary; high frequency/Trick Words; fluency; comprehension strategies; handwriting, spelling, and punctuation. Understand the principles of instruction: explicit, sequential, and cumulative instruction that engages multiple learning modalities with multisensory instruction, repetition, and immediate, specific feedback. Identify and understand the use of all materials in the Fundations Teacher's Kit and have a sense of how to find and use the many extended resources available in the Fundations® Learning Community (membership included with participation in this workshop). Use the Teacher's Manual to prepare a daily learning plan and practice activity procedures. Visualize the flow and pace of a full Fundations lesson completed with fidelity. Wilson workshops are highly interactive with activities and discussions and were developed with extensive participant input. Virtual offerings are designed to maintain participation and motivation for optimal learning with strategically placed breaks and an extended lunch. Although there is only one meeting date listed, once registered, participants will be able to choose from a variety of dates offered throughout the summer. In addition to this virtual launch workshop, participants also have access to year long virtual implementation support, available from July 1, 2025-June 30, 2026.

4. DASA Certification Training

Audience: Those seeking certicification

Dates: 8/6/2025 to 8/7/2025

Individuals must complete the Dignity for All Students Act (DASA) training workshop for educator certification in New York State. The training addresses harassment, bullying, and discrimination prevention and intervention in schools. The length of the training is at least six clock hours and the cost is $100.
The goals of this workshop are to:
Understand the intent components, and operational definitions of the Dignity Act
Develop sensitivity to the experience of specific student populations
Understand how school climate and culture have an impact on student achievement and behavior
Understand bullying, harassment and discrimination, including indicators, early warning signs, prevention and intervention and how to interact with families of victims and aggressors
Understand diversity and multi-cultural environments and examining your own biases.
This workshop meets the Dignity for All Students Act (DASA) training requirement of the NYS Education Department for state certification.

5. Teach 2 Lead Professional Development Series

6. Curriculum and Assessment Council (CAC) 25/26

This series of meetings is designed for Leaders of the 31 Component Districts in the WSWHE Region. The sessions will provide training and support with topics linked directly to curriculum, instruction, assessment and technology. Participants will be added to the regional listserv to ensure materials are shared.

7. New DASA Coordinator Training

Audience: Current DASA Coordinators

This training is intended to provide initial training for Dignity Act Coordinators, Designees and other school team members who are in need of initial training related to the Dignity for All Student Act. This training will heighten participants' sensitivity to students who are adversely impacted by harassment, bullying and discrimination and immerse them in being agents in proactively creating safe and supportive school environments for all students. Participants will be provided with information on understanding, identifying and reporting incidents; and experiential approaches to addressing human relations concepts including, but not limited to, the eleven protected classes.

8. 2025-2026 CSE/CPSE Chairpersons' Monthly Meetings

Audience: CSE/CPSE Chairpersons

Monthly meeting of CSE/CPSE chairpersons from WSWHE component districts. This half day meeting provides critical updates for CSE/CPSE chairpersons from the BOCES and NYSED. Opportunities are also provided for collaboration, problem solving, regional planning and professional learning. A monthly newsletter with upcoming topics is sent to registrants prior to each meeting. This meeting is intended for chairpersons within the WSWHE BOCES supervisory region. Requests for districts outside the WSWHE region should be sent to Kelly Sheppard, Director for Exceptional Learners at ksheppard@wswheboces.org

9. School Library System Council Meeting

Audience: SLS Council Members

Dates: 9/30/2025 to 6/1/2026

One of four required meetings of the SLS Council. Council assists the SLS in its mission as outlined in Commissioner's Regulations 90.18 including creating and monitoring the Plan of Service, and recommending approval of the annual budget and the annual report. Updates are also provided to Council members at each meeting.

10. Asynchronous Session: Lead Evaluator of Principals-Annual Refresher

This refresher is designed for current lead evaluators of principals who are seeking to fulfill annual training requirements for updates and annual recertification/renewal as a Lead Evaluator of Principals in accordance with their district APPR plans. Activities are aligned to the nine required training components. This Annual REFRESHER session will only provide recertification as Lead Evaluator of Principals. Attendees who have never been initially certified as a Lead Evaluator of Principals in prior school years must attend the Initial Lead Evaluator of Teachers 3 Part Series if they have never been appointed as a Lead Evaluator of Teachers previously and then attend a 1 day Initial Lead Evaluator of Principals to fulfill district APPR requirements for Lead Evaluators of Principals. Attendees who have been previously certified as Lead Evaluator of Teachers in prior roles only need to have completed the 1 day Initial for Lead Evaluators of Principals. 11. Lead Evaluator of Teachers-Annual Refresher- Self- Paced Course (Asynchronous)

This refresher course is designed for current lead evaluators of teachers who are seeking to fulfill annual training requirements for updates and annual recertification/renewal as a Lead Evaluator of Teachers in accordance with their district APPR plans. 12. The AI-mazing World of Canva: Designing Smarter, Not Harder

This session is designed for educators in grades K-12 to develop skills in using Canva and its AI tools. As a result of attending this session, participants will be able to: Utilize Magic Design to quickly create professional-looking presentations and worksheets from a single prompt. Generate unique images for lessons and activities using the Text to Image tool. Create dynamic, interactive content like quizzes and calculators using Canva Code with simple text commands. Draft lesson plans, student feedback, and other text-based content with Magic Write.

13. True North Fall 2025 Conference Day

This year's True North Conference Day is presented as a result of the collaborative planning among the superintendents and district leaders in the Bolton, Indian Lake, Johnsburg, Long Lake, Minerva, Newcomb, North Warren, and Warrensburg Central School Districts and WSWHE BOCES professional learning leaders. Keynote speaker, Dr. Toni Faddis, certified trainer in Visible Learning and Corwin educational consultant will guide the group through an exploration of Signature Practice #3, The Phases of Learning and deepen our understanding of How Learning Works, led by Dr. John Almarode at the Fall 2024 True North Conference Day. Differentiated breakout sessions will follow and are designed to enhance educators' understanding and application of effective teaching practices in various learning environments. Breakfast and lunch will be provided for all. Unless otherwise noted, conference sessions will be held at Warrensburg High School located at 103 Schroon River Road, Warrensburg, NY. 14. True North Fall 2025 PE/Health Conference Day

This year's True North Conference Day is presented as a result of the collaborative planning among the superintendents and district leaders in the Bolton, Indian Lake, Johnsburg, Long Lake, Minerva, Newcomb, North Warren, and Warrensburg Central School Districts and WSWHE BOCES professional learning leaders. Differentiated breakout sessions will follow the Keynote speaker, Darren Morton, The Lift Project, and are designed to enhance educators' understanding and application of effective teaching practices in various learning environments. Breakfast and lunch will be provided for all. Unless otherwise noted, conference sessions will be held at Warrensburg Elementary School. Register early; space is limited for some breakout sessions. REGISTRATION DEADLINE, September 25th. This is part of the True North Conference for the districts listed above. Others are welcome to attend. Please note that a registration cost for all other participants will be $625 per person. A light breakfast and Lunch will be included for all participants who attend. *Times are all currently tentative. Times are subject to change based on the presenter's requests.

15. Wellness, Inclusion, Diversity, and Equity (W.I.D.E.) Regional Network

This group is for school leaders in the WSWHE BOCES Region identified as the point of contact for DEI work within the district. This group will meet to help build understandings, resources & tools for a regional approach to DEI that focuses on: Welcoming & Affirming Environments, Inclusive Curriculum & Assessment, High Expectations & Rigorous Instruction, and Ongoing Professional Learning. Regional Network meetings will focus on priorities established by the Network in Spring 2024 which include: 1) Professional Learning through book study: 2) Working Groups for the development of tools, resources, and professional learning activities to be used by network members to support local and regional Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion implementation: Prioritized focus areas for 2025 - 2026 include: Data & Equity Reporting; Curriculum, Instruction & Assessment; Recruitment, Hiring & Retention Practices; Elevating Student Voices 3) Sharing of promising practices & supporting the extension of learning to others in the region.

17. Frontline IEP Direct Training

18. Communication Coordinator Meeting - GENERAL MEMBERSHIP

This in-person, full day session is designed for PreK-12 school librarians in the WSWHE BOCES region in order to continue to strengthen the school library programs in the region. Participants will be able to use the knowledge gained during the session to prioritize district goals within their annual library goals in order to complete the member plan as required by NYSED. Participants will receive updates from the SLS, work with the NYSED Portrait of a Graduate, and learn about the updates to the interlibrary loan process.

ALL School librarians are encouraged to attend.

One of at least four meetings for SLS Communication Coordinators as mandated by NY State Education Law 90.18. Communication coordinators are updated on topics relevant to the profession such as changes in curriculum, technology, and the Information Fluency Continuum. Professional Development is provided on current issues. Information is disseminated to district librarians after each meeting.

Developed by renowned literacy experts Dr. Louisa Moats, Dr. Carol Tolman, and Dr. Lucy Hart Paulson, it is a flexible literacy professional learning solution for educators and administrators. LETRS teaches the skills needed to master the fundamentals of reading instruction-phonological awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, comprehension, writing, and language. This is a two year cohort model. The 2025-2026 SY includes units 1-4 and the 2026-2027 SY includes units 5-8.

22. TLC Library Automation User Group

The TLC User Group is a collaborative, virtual forum for users of the TLC (The Library Corporation) system. This group provides a platform for members to deepen their understanding of the system, share best practices, and contribute to its ongoing improvement. Meetings are held every other month for WSWHE BOCES Library Automation members to assist with ongoing learning about new features, troubleshoot challenges, and discuss potential enhancements. The goal of the group is to empower users to leverage the TLC system more efficiently and to foster a community of knowledgeable and engaged users.

26. Pathways to Leadership 2025 - 2026: Kick Off Session

The Pathways to Leadership Collaboration exists to address a number of issues in educational leadership. Primarily, we are attempting to address both the shortage and quality of candidates for formal leadership roles. We exist to honor both the importance of quality leadership and its effect on student success. We believe we can play a role in the many stages of a leader's journey - raising up our leaders within and from the teaching ranks, encouraging the entry to leadership, honoring the complexity of leadership in education, operating with an eye to future advancement and succession planning, and finally, creating a forum where current leaders can pay it forward to the next generation. This registration is for the Kick-Off Session and will secure your place in the cohort. Additional registration instructions will be provided as soon as dates have been finalized for the 4 learning sessions (between Nov 1, 2025 - April 1, 2026) and closing ceremony (April 28, 2026). Participants must be available to participate in all learning components in order to receive credit for the cohort learning series. Learning Session Topics will include: What is the Work of Leadership? What Does the Work Look Like, Today & Tomorrow? Who Does the Work with Me? What are the Structures, Supports, and Resources for Getting the Work Done? Participants will receive a $500 stipend to participate. Participants must have District Administrator permission to participate. Final confirmation of registration will be sent to registrants once district approval is received.

30. Real-World Ready: Integrating New York's Vision for Graduates into Social Studies

New York State is committed to preparing students who are critical thinkers, effective communicators, and engaged citizens through the adoption of the Portrait of a Graduate. For social studies teachers, this vision is a powerful lens for connecting historical content to the real-world skills students need to thrive.

In this in-person professional learning session, we'll explore the core attributes of the New York State Portrait of a Graduate and see how they are already embedded in the social studies curriculum. Through hands-on activities and collaborative discussions, we will bridge the gap between abstract concepts and practical classroom application.

At the end of this session, teachers will be able to: Identify and articulate the direct connections between the NYS Social Studies Learning Standards and the Portrait of a Graduate. Create a plan for integrating these attributes into their daily teaching, using historical inquiry and civic engagement as key drivers for student growth.

31. High Leverage Instructional Practices: Social-Emotional Learning

This one hour, asynchronous workshop is designed to support K-12 administrators and educators with the high leverage instructional practice of social-emotional learning. SEL strategies help to cultivate positive school cultures within classrooms and throughout the entire school community. As a result from participating in this session, you will learn how to create equitable environments and academic excellence for all students, understand what transformative SEL is, how to view SEL through a cultural lens and how teachers can help students develop their Identity, Agency & Sense of Belonging as part of transformative SEL experiences. The Pathways to Leadership Collaboration exists to address a number of issues in educational leadership. Primarily, we are attempting to address both the shortage and quality of candidates for formal leadership roles. We exist to honor both the importance of quality leadership and its effect on student success. We believe we can play a role in the many stages of a leader's journey - raising up our leaders within and from the teaching ranks, encouraging the entry to leadership, honoring the complexity of leadership in education, operating with an eye to future advancement and succession planning, and finally, creating a forum where current leaders can pay it forward to the next generation. Concurrent Registration is required w/ the Pathways to Leadership 2025-2026 Kick Off Session. Session Topics will include: What is the Work of Leadership? What Does the Work Look Like, Today & Tomorrow? Who Does the Work with Me? What are the Structures, Supports, and Resources for Getting the Work Done? Participants will receive a $500 stipend to participate. Participants must have District Administrator permission to participate. This online course will teach participants to report any suspected child abuse or maltreatment. In New York State, specific professionals are "mandated" by law to report cases of suspected child abuse and maltreatment. Participants will fulfill requirements mandated in the New York State Education Department Education Law Title VIII Article 130 Sub article 2 §6507 Administration by the Education Department Paragraph 3(a). This training is approved by NYS Office of Teaching Initiatives.
The training is 2 hours and the cost is $40.

34. MTSS Regional Cohort Meeting: Cultivating a Data-Driven Culture

Project S.A.V.E. is a two-hour course that is required for certification of professionals who work in the schools in New York State. It was developed as a response to the ever-increasing violence in our schools. This course presents National Safety Council certified CPR-AED Training. Participants will learn: To take action in a medical emergency To Assess the victim To provide basic life support, including airway management, breathing and circulation To use an AED Desha's Law (Cardiac Emergency Response Plan) Desha's Law was enacted to ensure schools are prepared to respond promptly, efficiently, and effectively to sudden cardiac arrest or other life-threatening emergencies. The law requires that Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) are clearly marked, easily accessible, properly maintained, and that each school's safety plan includes a detailed cardiac emergency response plan. This plan must establish clear procedures and designate trained personnel to respond to such emergencies on school grounds or at school-sponsored events. To comply with these requirements, each district should develop an AED Program that outlines emergency procedures aimed at improving survival outcomes through early recognition and rapid response to cardiac emergencies. Once established, the AED Program should be incorporated into both the District-Wide School Safety Plan and the Building-Level Emergency Response Plan.$80 per person Needham Risk Management recommends that all employers have an employee trained in these areas.

72. TCIS Refresher

This two day, in-person session serves as a refresher course to the full, five day, TCIS initial curriculum training. As a result of attending this training, participants will develop knowledge, skills, and attitudes in the TCIS curriculum. Participants will have the chance to participate, practice, and receive feedback in conducting activities to gain immediate training experience. Training techniques such as role plays, small group discussions, reflective exercises, conducting practice sessions, and using audiovisual aids will be demonstrated. The curriculum is evidence-informed and trauma-sensitive. Participants will receive all the necessary materials to conduct the TCIS training program for their school district. Updates are for the certified TCI trainers and the refreshers are used in direct training for the staff. Therefore, certified TCI trainers needing to renew their certification will need to sign up for a TCI update. TCIS trainers are required to attend and successfully complete a TCIS update every two years in North America, Bermuda, and Australia, and every year in OCFS agencies in New York State and in the United Kingdom and Ireland to maintain their certification status.

73. SLS Communication Coordinator Meeting

Communication coordinators are updated on topics relevant to the profession such as changes in curriculum, technology, and the Information Fluency Continuum. Professional Development is provided on current issues. Information is disseminated to district librarians after each meeting. All school librarians are welcome.

74. NYS Mandated Harassment Prevention Training

This workshop is intended for all school employees, and will address harassment, bullying, and discrimination including, but not limited to, those acts based on a person's actual or perceived race, color, weight, national origin, ethnic group, religion, religious practice, disability, sexual orientation, gender, the status of being transgender, or sex. It will also cover the identification and mitigation of harassment, bullying, and discrimination. Due to regulatory compliance, the BOCES will make contact with districts, when necessary, to obtain the Harassment Policy specific to each district to ensure compliance. Participants should seek the permission of their superintendent to attend this training. Permission is required to attend. The registrant will be sent a link to participate in this session through a virtual platform 24 hours prior to the session date.

75. Child Abuse Training

Audience: Those seeking Certification

Dates: 6/1/2026

This online course will teach participants to report any suspected child abuse or maltreatment. In New York State, specific professionals are "mandated" by law to report cases of suspected child abuse and maltreatment. Participants will fulfill requirements mandated in the New York State Education Department Education Law Title VIII Article 130 Sub article 2 §6507 Administration by the Education Department Paragraph 3(a). This training is approved by NYS Office of Teaching Initiatives.
The training is 2 hours and the cost is $40.

76. School Violence Certification Training

Project S.A.V.E. is a two-hour course that is required for certification of professionals who work in the schools in New York State. It was developed as a response to the ever-increasing violence in our schools. This workshop will provide school personnel with awareness of violence prevention and intervention skills and techniques that they can use.
The training is 2 hours and the cost is $40.

77. DASA Certification Training

Audience: Those seeking certicification

Dates: 6/8/2026 to 6/9/2026

Individuals must complete the Dignity for All Students Act (DASA) training workshop for educator certification in New York State. The training addresses harassment, bullying, and discrimination prevention and intervention in schools. The length of the training is at least six clock hours and the cost is $100.
The goals of this workshop are to:
Understand the intent components, and operational definitions of the Dignity Act
Develop sensitivity to the experience of specific student populations
Understand how school climate and culture have an impact on student achievement and behavior
Understand bullying, harassment and discrimination, including indicators, early warning signs, prevention and intervention and how to interact with families of victims and aggressors
Understand diversity and multi-cultural environments and examining your own biases.
This workshop meets the Dignity for All Students Act (DASA) training requirement of the NYS Education Department for state certification.

78. TLC Library Automation User Group

The TLC User Group is a collaborative, virtual forum for users of the TLC (The Library Corporation) system. This group provides a platform for members to deepen their understanding of the system, share best practices, and contribute to its ongoing improvement. Meetings are held every other month for WSWHE BOCES Library Automation members to assist with ongoing learning about new features, troubleshoot challenges, and discuss potential enhancements. The goal of the group is to empower users to leverage the TLC system more efficiently and to foster a community of knowledgeable and engaged users.
