THIS IS A REPEATED COURSE. In this asynchronous course, quickly learn the basics of how to create a Google Classroom and simple ways to begin using it with your students this fall. Start the process of giving yourself and your students a digital classroom by creating a safe environment for creating whole group and differentiated assignments. Topics that will be covered include simple layout features, adding announcements, assignments, questions, basic setting options and resources.

Large topics to be covered include building relationships, communication, setting schedules, having rituals and routines, and checking for understanding. These topics will be shared through many practical ideas that include creating resource documentation for students and parents, appropriate ways of sharing info to families, new ways to do entrance and exit tickets and various ways to take attendance.

10. Introduction to Pixlr - Online

Program: NERIC: Model Schools

Dates: 10/19/2020 to 11/23/2020

Pixlr is a free online cloud-based image editing tool that runs on both the PC and Mac platforms. It's an HTML5-based app that closely resembles Photoshop. Images may be opened from your workstation or URL, as well as from Facebook, Instagram, and Google Photos. The course, focusing on Web image creation for the classroom, will include: interface navigation, selection tools and layers, manipulating your images, transforming and retouching photos, and filters. Participants who complete all the assignments, assessments and projects will receive a certificate of completion for 15 hours of participation. Registrants will be notified by email with course access information.

Prerequisites: Participants should also have access to a digital camera, smartphone or digital images for final project completion.

11. Google Forms: In and Out of the Classroom - Online

This 15-hour online course introduces educators to Google Forms for classroom and personal use. Google Forms is a tool that is a part of the G-Suite. It allows users to create easy-to-use web forms, that are linked to a Google Sheet. The course focus is on standards-based exercises that can be easily integrated and adapted for educator use across the curriculum. Topics covered may include: form creation and formatting, using templates, creating surveys, quizzes, exit tickets, sharing and collaborating, and using add-ons. Participants who complete all the assignments will receive a 15 hour completion certificate. Registrants will be notified by email with course access information.

Prerequisites: Must have Internet access and a Google Drive/Gmail account. Prior knowledge of Google Drive is strongly recommended.

12. Google Sheets for Educators
