78. Share the Pear: Introduction to Pear Deck with Google Slides

Program: NERIC: Model Schools

Dates: 6/3/2021

Location: Online

Pear Deck lets teachers engage every student in lessons with thoughtful formative assessments and interactive questions. Built by teachers, it's flexible and easy to use, fun for students, and effective. When using Pear Deck, you create the questions and students join the Pear Deck session from their device using their Google (or Microsoft) logins. As I move through the lesson, each student can respond to the questions giving me 100% engagement and instant understanding of how everyone is progressing.

During this live webinar session, I'll show you how I use Pear Deck. Then we'll create a lesson together and discuss how to use it in your class. (You'll also get a free extended trial of the Premium version! Hooray!) If you want to start exploring Pear Deck now, go to www.peardeck.com and look around or sign up for a free account!

79. The New AV Club - Mixed Media in a Digital Classroom

Program: NERIC: Model Schools

Dates: 6/3/2021 to 6/10/2021

As the year wraps up, what better time is there to try something new with your class? This course will present numerous alternatives to traditional text-based materials, pushing into the realms of video, digital graphics, audio recording, social media, and more! Participants will have the chance to "play” with various tech tools and see how multimedia can accomplish our tasks and goals, and then take those same tools right back into their classes to try with their students. This is blended course totaling 4 hours (3 hours webinar, 1 hour independent).

Tech tools are not going to go away, regardless of the format of our classrooms in the upcoming year. Rather than looking at them for novelty, we will explore them as purposeful alternatives to assignments that might not be engaging our students.

Please note: These are synchronous webinars where all participants will connect at the designated date and time. You will receive an email with webinar access information by 9am the day of the event. If you do not receive it, it is always a good idea to check your junk mail folder.
