In this training we will explore helping and supporting trans youth and their families through their transition journey, school issues, and finding supports in the community. This training will help families, schools staff, and mental health professionals create affirming practices to support Transgender youth.Eva Hernandez-Goley, LCSW-R is a Clinician at VCS, Inc.

This training is open to all school staff. Social Workers: Check the "hours" during the registration process. Social Work CEUs will be awarded by NYSED approved Social Work CEU provider VCS. CTLE will be awarded by RTC.

2. Authenticity and Confrontation - Zoom

Dates: 5/10/2021

Location: Zoom

This training will focus on strategies for effectively connecting with clients and building trust in the therapeutic relationship. The first strategy that we will discuss is using authenticity and vulnerability as a tool for connecting with difficult or avoidant clients. The second is how to use that connection to be able to confront clients without them shutting down as well as to help model healthy relationship dynamics.

This training is open to all school staff.
