Have you ever considered supporting colleagues through National board certification. This institute formerly known as Candidate Support Provider Training, is designed by NBPTS for National Board Certified Teachers, Higher Education Personnel, teacher leaders and Teacher Center Directors who want to provide ethical and intellectual supports for educators pursuing Board Certification. 2. Train the Facilitators - The Accomplished Teaching Series

Audience: K-12 Educators

Dates: 6/15/2019 to 6/22/2019

Location: Riverfront Library - Conference Room B

This 2 day professional learning opportunity (sponsored by the Lower Hudson Teacher Center Network) will provide participants with the tools to engage educators in the systematic study of accomplished teaching and improvement of instructional practice. This program is designed to train facilitators' on the research based materials utilized in the Accomplished Teaching Series including The National Board certificate area standards and The 5 Core Propositions and Architecture of Accomplished Teaching This training will provide:


• Rich, deep, collaborative conversations


• Resources to foster the professional exploration of a common language around accomplished practice


• The exploration of high quality materials that can be tailored to meet any contextual need NOTE: Please bring a bagged lunch (PARKING IS AVAILABLE ON THE STREET (REQUIRES QUARTERS) AND ALSO AT THE BUENA VISTA PARKING GARAGE LOCATED AT THE BUENA VISTA PARKING GARAGE LOCATED AT 20 BUENA VISTA AVE, YONKERS, NY 10701

4. National Board Jumpstart Day One- Foundations and Component 2

Location: B.O.C.E.S. Building 10 (West Nyack, NY)

Audience: Registered candidates with the National Board and have selected their certificate area.

Dates: 8/20/2019

Foundations: Delve into the National Board's essential ideas about what teachers should know and be able to do: Five Core Propositions, Architecture of Accomplished Teaching and National Board Content area standards, and connect these ideas to your teaching practice. Component 2: Differentiation in Instruction. Determine what is expected for this component using National Board content area component directions, standards and scoring rubrics and identify resources for developing written commentary. NEA's National Board Jump Start is early support for those who have registered as candidates with the National Board and have selected their certificate area. Jump Start is candidate-centered, builds a professional learning community, and focuses on the skills, knowledge, dispositions, and strategies needed to be successful in the National Board Certification process. This training is sponsored by the Lower Hudson Teacher Center Network and NYSUT. Lunch provided. New candidates are encourage to register for both Day 1 and Day 2. Register for Day 2 separately

5. National Board Jumpstart Day Two - Component 3

Location: B.O.C.E.S. Building 10 (West Nyack, NY)

Audience: Registered candidates with the National Board and have selected their certificate area.

Dates: 8/21/2019

Component 3: Teaching Practice and Learning Environment. This academy introduces candidates to the focus areas of Component 3: learning environment, student engagement, and sequence of instruction. Candidates will chart the requirements of Component 3, learn how to navigate the component directions, and discuss ways to capture accomplished practice in video evidence. NEA's National Board Jump Start is early support for those who have registered as candidates with the National Board and have selected their certificate area. Jump Start is candidate-centered, builds a professional learning community, and focuses on the skills, knowledge, dispositions, and strategies needed to be successful in the National Board Certification process. This training is sponsored by the Lower Hudson Teacher Center Network and NYSUT. Lunch provided. New candidates and candidates working on component 3 are encouraged to register.
