1. Online: Curriculum Mapping for Teachers - Using Online Mapping Tools to Plan Instruction

This 15 hour online course is or those who want to design thematic teaching units that will spark the interest of all students. Participants will explore the key components of mapping and design their own curriculum maps. With frequent collaboration and feedback from colleagues, participants will know what works, and what needs work, before ever meeting their students. This course uses Atlas Rubicon for course mapping. The course start date and end date are listed. The course is available 24/7.

2. Online: Using Google Tools - Intermediate to Advanced Features

Audience: All

Dates: 7/29/2020 to 8/28/2020

Location: Online Only

This hands-on 15-hour online course will cover intermediate to advanced features in Google Drive and Google Classroom. We will be using the Google platform to create documents, slides, forms, sheets, and sites. In Google Sites, we will create a template-driven website that can be used in the classroom and as an e-portfolio for students. We will cover the use and management of Google Classroom, tips for efficiency, and dealing with various issues. We will use Google Meet at least once during the course for a virtual meeting. Participants should be familiar with Google Docs and Slides. They should have some experience with Google Classroom.

3. Online: Adjusting Your Mindset: Be Passionate, Be Patient, Be Persistent and Persevere

In this 15 hour online course, participants will design a toolbox of research-based strategies and competencies that will utilize virtues as a springboard for program design. Additionally, these activities will enhance professional dialogue and effectively blend different, innovative, and practical strategies for program implementation. At the end of this course, participants will have the tools they need to help their students: develop a mindset using integrity and ethics as a framework for social, emotional and academic growth; navigate through life's challenges in a positive and constructive manner. These efforts will bring about systemic change and contribute to creating a resilient and compassionate school community. Participants will be provided with the opportunity for independent inquiry, learning in cooperation with others, and reflective practice.. 4. Online: Designing Online Instruction

Audience: All

Dates: 10/7/2020 to 11/18/2020

Location: Online

This 15-hour course, Designing Online Instruction, prepares teachers to design online training modules that address unique target audiences. Course participants will be guided through the process of defining goals and objectives aligned to standards; selecting instructional materials; designing activities and assessments; to create a dynamic online learning experience. Participants will learn how to navigate the development tools in a learning management system (LMS) in order to create and evaluate engaging online learning opportunities. At the completion of this course participants will have created a 5-6 hour module of instruction that is dynamic, engaging and goal-driven.
This 15 hr online course will allow educators the opportunity to create resilient schools that meet the social, emotional, ethical, and academic (SEL) needs of students. Participants will explore the research-based skills and competencies that have a positive impact on the organizational structure of their school, the delivery of instruction, and student performance. SEL teaching strategies will be naturally infused into the organizational structure of the school, as well as into existing curricular activities. This online course will allow educators to build bridges by acknowledging past accomplishments and validating what is presently working well. Throughout this coursework, we will continue to address the SEL needs of our students and include the perspective of distance learning.
The research-based strategies and skills utilized in this 15 hour online course will enable teachers to help students build effective relationships, and work through life's challenges in constructive and ethical ways. Through these efforts teachers will be able to enhance school climate, make a difference in the lives of their students, change the fabric of their classroom communities and impact systemic change in their districts. Throughout this coursework, we will continue to address the SEL needs of our students and include the perspective of distance learning. 7. Online: Emotional Intelligence, Reflective Practice and the Theory of Self- First

This online course will allow participants the opportunity to develop skills that will enable them to identify, use, understand and manage their emotions and the emotions of others. By developing these competencies participants will:
• reach new heights in being responsible decision makers
• utilize multiple points of view
• be creative problem solvers who make sound, ethical and effective decisions
• explore research-based skills and competencies that have a positive impact on their professional and personal lives. The skills, competencies, and strategies utilized throughout the coursework are research-based and are aligned with the MSCEIT (Mayer, Salovey, Caruso Emotional Intelligence Test Yale University) and the CASEL (Collaborative for Academic Social and Emotional Learning) Competencies. Throughout this coursework, we will continue to address the SEL needs of our students and include the perspective of distance learning.
