1. Wilson Reading System® (WRS) LEVEL I CERTIFICATION

Description: The WRS Level I Certification prepares teachers to effectively implement WRS Steps 1-6 (4th Edition) with students reading and spelling below grade level and those diagnosed with a language-based learning disability. Participants will demonstrate mastery of the Wilson Reading System lesson plan, including multi-sensory techniques and effective strategies in a 1:1 setting. This course offers 270 CEU credit hours for PA Act 48 following program completion

Prerequisites:
WRS Introductory Course (completed within the last five years).
Bachelor's Degree in Education or a related field.


Course Format: Hybrid - participants can join in-person at DCIU Marple Education Center, or remotely. A combination of virtual meetings, asynchronous instruction, and in-person instruction (1 meeting) and observations

Requirements:
Complete a comprehensive online course: WRS Intensive Instruction for the Non-Responsive Reader (Steps 1-6).

Conduct 1:1 WRS instruction with a practicum student for a minimum of 65 lessons with a lesson plan written for each lesson. The student must meet selection criteria and be approved by the assigned Wilson® Credentialed Trainer.

Be observed five times teaching the practicum student. Each observation is scheduled with the Wilson® Credentialed Trainer and lasts approximately 60-75 minutes.

Registrants must have earned their Wilson Level I Certification, completed the three-day WRS (Wilson Reading System®) Advanced Strategies for MSL Group Instruction Course, and receive instructor approval to commence the practicum.


Description: This practicum completes one of four requirements to earn Wilson Level II Certification. This completes the small group practicum portion working with an appropriate group of students starting level 1. All participants must have completed the Wilson Level I certification, have completed the Wilson Advanced Strategies three-day course, and be eligible for the Wilson Level II Certification process. Prior consultation with the instructor, Dolores Lippincott (dlippincott@dciu.org), or the department supervisor, Dr. Jill Vizza (jvizza@dciu.org), is advised if you have any questions.

Registration Fee: $1350.00 payable via Credit Card (Visa/Mastercard) or school Purchase Order

**This practicum is expected to be completed within 15 months. On occasion, circumstances may necessitate an extension request to Wilson Language Training. Description: Superintendents are invited to send an AI Administrative team that will be exploring AI implementation. Teams will work in a space that includes opportunities to consider critical topics and the emerging best practices for leading AI in districts.

In year two of the AI Administrators Network, district teams will explore the impacts of AI in education settings as they engage in team planning, professional learning, and networking. In addition, district teams will have opportunities to apply knowledge and learning about AI frameworks into concrete action plans for their school communities.

Roles for the Administrative Network could include Superintendents, Assistant Superintendents, Directors/Supervisors for Curriculum, Directors/Supervisors for Pupil Services, Technology leaders, Human Resource Directors, and Principals at each level.

Course Description: The 3 consecutive day WRS Advanced Strategies for MSL Group Instruction Course provides strategies to improve all aspects of WRS group instruction through hands-on practice and discussion, and is a requirement for individuals to participate in the WRS Group Mastery Practicum. The workshop examines the specifics of each WRS Block, with an increased focus on vocabulary, comprehension and fluency instruction. This course offers 16.5 CEU credit hours for PA Act 48.
