Left Behind
Follow a group of determined NYC mothers who establish the city's first public school for students with dyslexia. Their fight against institutional barriers and systemic inequities illustrates the power of family and community advocacy in shaping educational change.

The Right to Read
Directed by Jenny Mackenzie, this film tells the stories of an NAACP activist, a teacher, and two families working to ensure that every child has access to early literacy. Framing reading as both a civil right and a cornerstone of democracy, the film underscores how literacy shapes lifelong opportunity and equity.

"Illiteracy is one of the most solvable problems of our time… Reading is at the core of our democracy. Our future depends on ensuring all students are equipped with the skills to build an equitable society for us all.” - Jenny Mackenzie
