Join us for an enriching learning experience at our Regional Learning Blade Professional Development sessions across Missouri. In these sessions, you will learn how Learning Blade supports STEM, computer science, and CTE, and how our program can be implemented in a variety of classroom settings!

What is Learning Blade?

Learning Blade is an online system that allows ANY teacher to provide Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM), Computer Science (CS) and Career and Technical Education (CTE)

  • Aligned to MO 5th-9th grade math, science, ELA, social studies, and technology standards.
  • Builds skills, awareness, and interest in STEM, CS, and CTE careers and technologies.

  • 20+ hours coding course CS
  • Career Exploration
  • Online and offline engagement of CS principles

  • This session will cover:

  • Best practices for integrating interdisciplinary curriculum.
  • How to implement support to educators and the whole school building.
  • How to train other building instructors to work with Learning Blade.
  • Participants will receive a $150 stipend for attending. (paid after the workshop)

    4. Math Fluency Boot Camp

    Dates: 6/6/2024 to 6/7/2024

    This 2 day workshop will cover the basics of math fluency and explore many activites to use in the classroom to help your students become more fluent mathematical thinkers. This is a k-12 workshop in order to provide show the vertical alignment that these fluency activities helps build. There will be appropriate activities for all grade levels!

    5. Building Thinking Classrooms Online Book Study - Math

    Program: RPDC - Agency for Teaching, Leading and Learning

    Dates: 6/17/2024 to 6/21/2024

    This is a QUICK book study! We will meet every morning for 1 week to cover 3 chapters each meeting. You need to provide your own book for this workshop. This is an easy to read, but very informational book! Building Thinking Classrooms by Peter Lilijedahl

    6. 5 Practices for Orchestrating Productive Mathematics Discussions Online Book Study

    Program: RPDC - Agency for Teaching, Leading and Learning

    Dates: 6/24/2024 to 6/28/2024

    This is a QUICK book study! We will meet every morning for 1 week to cover 2 chapters each day. Where Building Thinking Classrooms provides the "why" for changes in the math classrooms, this book provides the "how" to make that transition successfully. It offers detailed instructions for planning your lessons to incorporate deeper understanding of the math through quality discourse and consolidation of student work. You will need to have your own copy of the book: 5 Practices for Orchestrating Productive Mathematics Discussions by Margaret Smith and Mary Kay Stein.
