Mastering: Mentoring is part of the Missouri Teacher Development System.

This opportunity provides:

  • opportunities to apply newly acquired skills with beginning teachers

Mastering: Mentor First Year Teachers is offered free for teachers who are mentoring a teacher enrolled in: MTDS Emerging I(BTAP)

Audience: Mentors of first or second year teachers

Dates: 9/3/2021 to 5/6/2022

This program offers learning and support for mentor teachers. There are 4 meeting dates.

  • September 3, 2021 (South Central RPDC, Rolla)
  • Attend Emerging I Day 2 with Mentee (Date and location determined individually)
  • Attend Emerging I Day 4 with Mentee (Date and location determined individually)
  • May 6, 2022 (South Central RPDC, Rolla)

    If you are attending a workshop for which you have not registered, a late fee will be applied.

    Dates: 9/20/2021 to 5/2/2022

    This experience provides practical application of mentoring/coaching skills within a mentor/mentee cohort with access to on-demand learning, including materials created by Mike Rutherford, the author of The Artisan Teacher. This program is part of the Missouri Teacher Development System (MTDS) Mastering I: Mentoring emphasizes developing mentoring and coaching skills of the mentor and focuses on the MTDS Competencies: Mentors will learn the qualities of a good mentor/mentee program. September 20 and February 15 will be with your mentee
