These sessions are designed for members of professional development committees who want to provide powerful professional development opportunities for their schools and districts.

Participants will:

-Understand the roles and responsibilities of effective Professional Development Committees (PDCs)

-Examine the relationship between student growth, educator evaluation and professional learning

-Explore the criteria for evaluating professional development and the appropriate budgeting of funds.

- Draft or review their PDC Plan for the school year using Missouri Professional Learning Guidelines (revised 2020) and district/building goals.

This program is part of the Missouri Teacher Development System (mo-mtds.net)

-Current PDC Plan 

-CSIP 

-Building school improvement goals

-Needs assessment results (if available)

4. MTDS Instructional Coach Academy (SOUTHEAST)

Program: RPDC - Southeast

Dates: 8/29/2024 to 4/16/2025

This program is designed to offer support and strategies for instructional coaches. Building on John Antonetti's work, Instructional Coach Academy will lead instructional coaches through the process of defining and planning systems to support teachers in their districts.

MTDS Mastering: Foundations of Coaching and Mentoring is part of the Missouri Teacher Development System

Purposeful Lesson Planning (formerly BTAP B) offers continued support for early career teachers.

To celebrate the completion of a successful first year of teaching, MTDS: Purposeful Lesson Planning includes a statewide event featuring Mike Rutherford, author of The Artisan Teacher! Participants will also receive a copy of Mike's book The Artisan Teacher.

MTDS: Purposeful Lesson Planning is part of the Missouri Teacher Development System and is open to any teacher who has completed a Beginning Teacher Assistance Program in Missouri.

This opportunity provides:

-access to experts- statewide event with Mike Rutherford!

-access to on-demand learning, including Mike Rutherford's MTDS series

-consultant support

-networking with other teachers

-competency-based programming

Missouri students need great teachers. Your role as a builder of the next generation of educators is SO important! Together we can help build the future of Missouri teachers.

Regional Grow Your Own networks are designed:

-to connect district GYO program designers/facilitators through active collaborative groups.

-to promote resource/information sharing among colleagues.

-to create opportunities that inspire students to become great educators.

-using the Aspiring Level state competencies as a focus.

Join us if you are a designer/facilitator of a GYO club/chapter or class who wants to:

-connect with other leaders who work with the next generation of educators.

-hear relevant guest speakers.

-learn about resources and opportunities that support your program.

-share the fantastic happenings of your group of future teachers.

Regional networking sessions support the implementation and growth of GYO teacher recruitment programs in all Missouri school districts and charter schools. The state MTDS GYO Coordinator, Sandy Humbyrd, a former Ed Pathways Dual Credit Class Teacher & Ed Club Sponsor, who completed doctoral work on Missouri's GYO programs, will be facilitating network gatherings.

17. MTDS Critical Thinking and Engagement (SOUTHEAST)

Take your lesson design to the next level! Learn how to design tasks that promote engagement and critical thinking in your students while also designing your own individual learning as a teacher.

This program offers continued support for
*early educators,
*those who are entering the profession through other means (such as alternative certification), or
*those navigating changes in content or grade-level.

Join us if you are a teacher who wants to-
-learn research and evidence-based practices that promote critical thinking and problem-solving,
-dive deeper into a topic of interest that you want to incorporate into your classroom, and
-set growth goals for your students and for yourself.

This program is part of the Missouri Teacher Development System (MTDS).
