Welcome New Leaders to the Missouri Leadership Development System (MLDS)! Our first regional session will be our Kickoff to the School Year: Critical Firsts! We will meet on August 12th starting at 9:00 AM.

The meeting will be held in downtown Springfield, Park Central Office Building (PCOB) starting 9:00 a.m. Additional details will be sent by email a few days prior to the meeting! Mark your calendars and get ready for a great new year!

2. MLDS: Missouri Leadership Academy 21-22

Program: RPDC - Kansas City

Location: 3 KCRPDC-Union Station (Kansas City, MO) [map]

Audience: School Leaders with at least three full years of administrator experience.

Dates: 9/2/2021 to 5/5/2022

The Missouri Leadership Development System (MLDS) is a continuum of learning and supports provided to school leaders from aspiring to retiring. In addition to content available for aspiring school leaders, five levels of support comprise MLDS: New Leaders Year I, New Leaders Year II, Sustaining Leadership Year III, Sustaining Leadership IV and Transformational Leadership V.

Missouri Leadership Academy:
Leadership Academy is part of the Missouri Leadership Development System (MLDS), which develops effective school leaders who: Engage with school and community, serve as catalysts for meaningful and productive change, recognize and develop excellent instruction, and create and sustain a culture of continuous learning. Leadership Academy is comprised of school leaders across the state of Missouri and aims to promote the success of each student by building leadership capacity in the following domains: Relational, Instructional, Visionary, Innovative and Managerial. Leadership Academy offers four regional meetings, a three-day outdoor learning experience and statewide meetings. Statewide meetings will be held in mid-Missouri and Potosi areas, and regional meetings will be conducted in cohorts in your area.

3. MLDS Emerging Level II

Program: RPDC - Southeast

Location: 1 Southeast Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (Cape Girardeau, MO) [map]

Dates: 9/8/2021 to 3/1/2022

Year 2 of Emerging Level provides new leaders with continued support which builds upon Year 1 training.

The Missouri Leadership Development System provides support to new leaders to allow them to be successful in their first "Building Leadership" position.

Year 2 dates include:

October 14, 20 or 27, 2021 - School Culture Walk (off campus site) choose one
February 22, 2022 - Regional Meeting #2 Room Kem Hall-RPDC

Welcome Back MLDS Emerging Year 2 Leaders! Your first cohort meeting for your second year in MLDS is slated for September 17th (Friday) starting at 9:00 a.m. We will meet at the Park Central Office Building (PCOB) in Room 229 in downtown Springfield.

Final details and a parking code will be sent the day before the session begins.

We ask that you register so that we may provide brunch and free parking.

Start Time: 9:00 a.m. End Time by 2:00 p.m.

5. MLDS: Sustaining Leadership III Cohort 21-22

Audience: School Leaders who have completed New Leaders/Emerging content and are in their first few years of school leadership.

The Missouri Leadership Development System (MLDS) is a continuum of learning and supports provided to school leaders from aspiring to retiring. In addition to content available for aspiring school leaders, five levels of support comprise MLDS: New Leaders Year I, New Leaders Year II, Sustaining Leadership Year III, Sustaining Leadership IV and Transformational Leadership V.

Sustaining Leadership III Cohort:
The Missouri Leadership Development System (MLDS) Sustaining Leadership III Cohort provides principals: Training and support through research-based learning experiences, opportunities to develop formal and informal professional networks. MLDS Sustaining Leadership III includes four regional meetings which provide practical, relevant learning as well as one coaching lab providing hands on experiences to improve skills in assessing school culture. Participation in New Leaders/Emerging Level content is a pre-requisite for this course. If you are in your first years of school leadership and did not participate in New Leaders content, please contact the RPDC Leadership Development Specialist, Tamara Moore-Callahan at tymtc7@umkc.edu to discuss your best cohort placement.

6. MLDS Developing Level II

Program: RPDC - Southeast

Location: 1 Southeast Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (Cape Girardeau, MO) [map]

Dates: 9/22/2021 to 3/2/2022

Developing Level II continues the growth of leaders who have completed Emerging Level and Developing Level I/Leadership Academy. Developing Level II works with leaders addressing pertinent topics in regard to their level of leadership and their growth as a leader. Developing Level II consists of 4 1/2 day meetings. Meeting dates for the 2021-2022 school year are: September 22, November 3, February 1, and March 2.

7. MLDS SW Region: Sustaining Leaders Joplin Cohort Session #1 to be held on September 22 (Wednesday)

MLDS SW Region Joplin Cohort: Sustaining Leaders Year 3 Starting in September! Regional Mtg. #1 will be held in person on September 22 (Wednesday).

Our first session will begin at 9:00 AM and conclude by 1:30 p.m. The session will be held at the Joplin Administration Building, 825 Pearl Ave., Joplin 64801.

Once registered you will receive meetings details a few days prior to the session. MLDS is provided at No-Cost.

    New Leaders Year 2 Cohort:
    The Missouri Leadership Development System (MLDS) is a continuum of learning and supports provided to school leaders from aspiring to retiring. In addition to content available for aspiring school leaders, five levels of support comprise MLDS: New Leaders Year I, New Leaders Year II, Sustaining Leadership Year III, Sustaining Leadership IV and Transformational Leadership V. School leaders will want to invest in their own professional development by attending each level of training. The Missouri Leadership Development System (MLDS) New Leaders Year 1 provides principals: Conclusion of two-years of productive and relevant mentoring, training and support through research-based learning experiences, opportunities to develop formal and informal professional networks. MLDS New Leaders Year 2 includes two regional meetings which provide practical, relevant learning as well as two coaching labs providing hands on experiences to improve skills in assessing school culture. In addition, a minimum of 20 hours of mentor support are included. Participation in New Leaders Year 1 is a pre-requisite for this cohort. If you are in year two of school leadership and did not participate in New Leaders Year 1, please contact the RPDC Leadership Development Specialist, Tamara Moore-Callahan at tymtc7@umkc.edu to discuss your best course placement. Completion of the New Leaders/Emerging Level series (year 1 and 2) meets administrative certification requirements.

    Transformational Leadership Cohort:
    The Missouri Leadership Development System (MLDS) is a series of professional learning experiences specifically tailored to develop leadership capacity across multiple domains of leadership. Research and practical experience confirm the impact of leadership on multiple aspects of school life, personal satisfaction, recruitment and retention of faculty and staff, and student achievement, to name a few. Essential activities will include, but are not limited to comprehensive and progressive learning treatments designed to meet principals' needs at their current level of experience (Emerging, Sustaining or Transformational), opportunities to develop formal and informal professional networks, relevant leadership learning facilitated by MLDS specialists, delivered in a format that honors a principal's time, experience and areas of expertise in the education field. This cohort is well suited for school leaders with 6+ years of administrator experience. Completion of Sustaining Leadership content is recommended. If you have 6+ years of leadership experience but did not participate in Sustaining Leadership content, please contact the RPDC Leadership Development Specialist, Tamara Moore-Callahan at tymtc7@umkc.edu to discuss your best cohort placement.

    Transformational leaders have completed Emerging Level and Developing Level work in the Missouri Leadership Development System. Transformational level work allows experienced leaders to continue their growth through participation in the learning experiences and treatments of the transformational level. Four half day meetings will be held throughout the year.

    35. Missouri Leadership Academy Cohort #36

    The Missouri Leadership Academy is a statewide cohort with a regional connection. Participants engage in statewide meetings as well as four regional cohort meetings. Statewide meetings include nationally known speakers such as Ken WIlliams, Joe Sanfellipo, Mike Rutherford, Beth Houf and more. The focus of Leadership Academy is to ensure success of ALL students by building leadership capacity. This year-long experience develops effective leaders who: -Demonstrate their roles as lead learner -Develop and cultivate positive, productive professional relationships -Develop skills to effectively develop teachers -Create and sustain a culture of continuous improvement Leadership Academy is designed for building leaders in Year 3 and beyond. The Outdoor Leadership Experience held at Trout Lodge, Potosi and is billed seperately. The 4 regional cohort meetings are held at the various schools within the region.
