Nine 90-minute topic-based, community building, virtual sessions will be offered to all mentor teachers of first and second year Missouri teachers. Each session topic will focus on a Mastering Level II Missouri Teacher Development System (MTDS) competency from the lens of supporting mentors in their capacity to provide mentoring and coaching for new teachers within the diverse settings and new working conditions established due to the Covid-19 crisis. Topics will be aligned to the Missouri Teacher Standards and will be designed to complement the parallel the Community of Practice for Beginning Teachers. Sessions will be co-hosted by an educational consultant and an identified teacher leader. Sessions will be held on designated Thursday evenings throughout the 2020-2021 school year between 5:30 pm and 7:00 pm. This is a free service offered to mentor teachers in Missouri.
