This three-day professional learning session introduces teachers to the OpenSciEd Elementary materials in addition to the corresponding units. As a result of this professional learning, teachers will understand the supports embedded within the OpenSciEd Elementary units that align with the shifts called for by A Framework for K1/412 Science Education and the Next Generation Science Standards. Included in this session are opportunities for teachers to: Watch videos of students engaging with the OpenSciEd units Engage in the actual lessons of the unit as a student and adult learner Deepen their understanding of three-dimensional instruction. Lunch is included.

Specifically designed for Elementary OpenSciEd educators, this online Professional Learning Community offers practical support and collaborative growth for both teachers piloting and teachers fully implementing the units, as well as administrators supporting these efforts. From September to November, we'll focus on mastering each lesson type (Anchor, Investigation, Putting Pieces Together) by analyzing real student work and sharing classroom-ready strategies. December's "Deep Dive" sessions are shaped by your needs, ensuring relevant and timely support for all roles and implementation stages.
