This beginner's level course explores manding, beginning with defining what a mand is, moving through motivating operations, teaching procedures, and data collection.

4. DATA and Verbal Behavior-Not Another Four Letter Word Asynchronous Schoology Course

Dates: 6/26/2025 to 12/31/2025

This course picks up where the Verbal Behavior and Intensive Teaching left off to answer the questions posed at the end of the course. Participants will take a deeper dive into intensive teaching to explore data systems, reinforcers, mastery of skills, and maintaining a student's variable ratio of reinforcement.

5. Pairing and Reinforcement Asynchronous Schoology Course

In this two-hour course, participants will learn the basics of reinforcement and pairing. Following instruction and video examples, participants will demonstrate how to pair with students as well as define reinforcement and pairing and the applicable variables that effect these procedures. Learn how to connect with your students and bring on the fun!

6. Running Successful IT Sessions Asynchronous Schoology Course

This intermediate level course will take participants beyond the basic procedures of running intensive teaching. Following the course, participants will describe why fidelity is important, identify and describe expectations within the Intensive Teaching Fidelity Checklist, and relate how the principles of reinforcement apply to intensive teaching sessions.

7. Using the VB-MAPP: From Assessment to Programming Asynchronous Schoology Course

Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) is an evidence based, tiered framework for supporting students' behavioral, academic, social, emotional, and mental health. The purpose of this session is to provide existing teams an overview of Tier 1 practices. This is appropriate for teams that have had turnover, are struggling with fidelity, or would like to re-structure their tier one system. Teams will be provided extended time for collaboration.

Act 48 hours will be provided to workshop participants. 19. Transition Network Meeting-Planning for the Future-VIRTUAL MEETING

Transition Council (TC) is a network of parents, consumers, educators, and community service providers helping students with special needs in their transition from school to adult life. Meetings will: inform parents of available transition supports from the school and the community; establish a communication link from school to family to community services; identify community issues and suggest possible resolutions; and work toward achieving successful student transitions from school to adult life. Meetings include guest speakers and open conversation between parents, educators, and agency representatives to exchange ideas.

IEP transition planning begins at age 14. Whether you are just starting this process or almost ready for graduation, understanding what is involved regarding the transition grid in the IEP is important for both students and parents. This session will share information about transition planning and the transition goals in the IEP and how to work together as an IEP team to plan a bright future.

20. Tech Media Integrators Collaborative

22. Novice Autistic Support Teachers Networking Group

Novice teachers are in the early stages of their teaching career, within their first or second year of teaching, are new to the field of autism, or are emergency certified special educators. Join these educators from across Lancaster and Lebanon counties to learn, network, and grow! These meetings will allow discussion of topics pertinent to leading autistic support classrooms. Each session will take place the third Tuesday of the month and explore a strategy as well as allow time for participants to ask questions and network in a job-alike group.

28. Gifted Education Network Meeting

Program: Gifted and Enrichment Services/ IS

Audience: Gifted support teachers, general education teachers, school psychologists, guidance counselors, and administrators

Dates: 9/19/2025

These half-day job-alike gatherings will be facilitated by IU13 and open to any staff invested in supporting the academic growth of gifted/advanced learners and complying with Chapter 16 regulations. A key component of each meeting will be time set aside for collaboration with grade-level, job-alike colleagues. District/school staff will also have the option to plan as a team during a portion of the meeting. Communication for the Gifted Network will primarily take place through Schoology, and anyone interested may join this Group for updates, resources, and discussions.

The access code is FBGZM-ZHCMD. Registration will be required for each meeting for planning and Act 48 purposes. There is NO COST for IU13 district and nonpublic school staff to participate in network meetings.

29. CPI/ Non-Violent Crisis Prevention Institute Refresher

Program: Behavior, Safe Schools, and Culture/ ECSES

Audience: Currently certified IU13 staff and employees of public school districts within the IU13 Service Area.

PRE-REQUISITE: Proof of current CPI certification, i.e.- blue card.

Non-Violent Crisis Intervention training through Crisis Prevention Institute, Inc. is a nationally recognized program designed to teach staff and building level teams to intervene in a safe, non-harmful manner when students become disruptive or violent. Participants will learn preventive techniques, therapeutic physical intervention and prevention assessments.

Attendees must participate in the entire training in order to receive the nationally recognized Crisis Prevention Institute content and certification.

Close partner practice of physical techniques is a required component of the training.

Please dress casually with sneakers or rubber-soled closed-toe shoes. For your safety, you may be asked to remove jewelry.

Lunch is on your own. (30 minutes)

Participation is limited to IU13 staff and employees of the 22 public school districts within the IU13 Service Area.

35. Open-Ended Item Writing and Scoring Math PSSA and Keystone

Program: Mathematics/ IS

Audience: 3-8th grade and Algebra 1 educators

Dates: 9/24/2025 to 10/21/2025

This interactive two-day workshop is designed for educators teaching grades 3-8 and Algebra 1 who want to enhance their skills in developing, scoring, and analyzing open-ended questions. Participants will gain the tools to align open-ended questions with standards, develop effective rubrics, and incorporate the Standards of Mathematical Practice into student questioning techniques.

Day 1: Participants will explore the criteria for writing open-ended questions, develop aligned rubrics, and engage in the writing process to create high-quality questions tailored to their students' needs.

Day 2: After administering their questions to students, participants will analyze the responses, apply scoring rubrics, and reflect on insights gained from the process to inform their instruction.

By the end of the workshop, participants will:
*Understand the criteria for writing effective open-ended questions.
*Develop and refine rubrics aligned with standards and Eligible Content.
*Apply the scoring process to evaluate open-ended questions accurately.
*Establish a systematic approach for crafting open-ended questions.
*Integrate the Standards of Mathematical Practice into questioning techniques.

36. PBIS Advanced Tiers Training: Tier 3 INVITATION ONLY

Audience: School teams implementing Tiers 1 & 2 SWPBIS and who have earned a 70% or higher on the current Tiered Fidelity Inventory (TFI)

This training is designed for school teams looking to strengthen their implementation of Tier 3 within a PBIS framework. Participants will explore individualized, function-based behavior supports for students with the most intensive needs. The session covers the development of behavior support plans, collaboration with families and specialists, and the use of data-driven problem-solving to guide decision-making.

Dinner is not provided. Act 48 Information: 1.5 Act 48 credits will be awarded for each PLC meeting attended with a maximum of 6 Act 48 credits earned for the entire year. 39. Megawords: Multisyllabic Phonics Intervention

Audience: Teachers of Grades 4-12, Special Education, ESL, Instructional Coaches, Reading Specialists, Educational Consultants, and Paraeducators who assist with Megawords Instruction

Participants will need to bring their own copy of the Megawords Teacher's Guide - Book 1 and Megawords Student Book 1. If needed, materials can be purchased from:School Specialty. Megawords, a program designed for grades 4-12, teaches the reading, spelling, and contextual use of multisyllabic words through a systematic progression of skills. Participants will learn about these various components of the Megawords program and practice using the program with peers. The focus of this session will be on the use of Book 1, though other books in the series will be mentioned.

Non-Violent Crisis Intervention training through Crisis Prevention Institute, Inc. is a nationally recognized program designed to teach staff and building level teams to intervene in a safe, non-harmful manner when students become disruptive or violent. Participants will learn preventive techniques, therapeutic physical intervention and prevention assessments.

Attendees must participate in the entire training in order to receive the nationally recognized Crisis Prevention Institute content and certification.

Close partner practice of physical techniques is a required component of the training.

Please dress casually with sneakers or rubber-soled closed-toe shoes. For your safety, you may be asked to remove jewelry.

52. Youth Mental Health First Aid Training

Gain the skills to identify, understand, and respond to signs of mental health and substance use challenges in children and adolescents aged 12-18.

This training covers common signs and symptoms of mental health issues, such as anxiety, depression, eating disorders, and ADHD, as well as indicators of substance use challenges. Participants will learn how to effectively interact with youth in crisis, connect them to appropriate resources, and address expanded topics like trauma, substance use, self-care, the impact of social media, and bullying. While this program does not teach diagnosis or therapy, it empowers participants to support young people by applying a core five-step action plan when they exhibit signs of mental illness or emotional distress.

73. Engaging Students While on a Flight Team Deployment

Would you like more training on what to expect and how to best support student when there is an unexpected death? This session will address common grief responses with students after an unexpected death and how this plays out differently based on age level. We will specifically talk about practical ways to engage in conversation when responding as a flight team member on that first day back in school after a tragic incident.

Objectives: At the conclusion of this session, participants will:



•Describe at least 4 ways grief may impact a student after a sudden death

•Explain how mourning is different from grief

With the adoption of Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 AA as the standard for state and local government websites, including school districts, this training will ensure that all digital resources - such as school publications, learning management systems, and online instructional materials - are accessible to all individuals. Participants will explore the core principles of WCAG 2.1 and learn practical strategies for creating and maintaining accessible digital content throughout their school district. It is recommended that district teams of (2 - 4 people) attend together to examine aspects of sample district compliance roadmaps and to develop individual district action plans.

Workshops typically cover how to do basic page repairs, tip-ins, hinge and spine repairs, book jacket and laminate applications, and how to reinforce spines.
