This registration is for the Staff and Curriculum Development Network of New York State (SCDN) 2025-2026 Annual Membership. The annual membership registration fee is $700 for the year, however, THIS REGISTRATION WILL NOT GENERATE A BILL. The $700 annual membership fee is included on the Single Billing Invoice that your BOCES received from Ulster BOCES. This membership grants access to the SCDN listserv, quarterly meetings, and additional professional learning sessions throughout the 2025-2026 school year. PLEASE NOTE: In addition to this annual membership registration, you must also register for each individual session that you plan to attend. The Staff and Curriculum Development Network of New York State (SCDN) has served as an instructional leadership entity for District Superintendents since 1986. SCDN represents the thirty-seven Boards of Cooperative Educational Services (BOCES) and the Big 5 Cities in New York State, working to enhance school district capacity to achieve the New York State Standards for all students.

The Staff and Curriculum Development Network (SCDN) hosts a comprehensive 1 1/2 day meeting four times a year, bringing together representatives from each BOCES and the Big 5 school districts in New York State. These extended sessions are designed to foster professional learning, provide networking, and deep collaboration, for SCDN members to learn with and from one another. A main emphasis is on aligning with and supporting the initiatives of the New York State Education Department. The agenda often features keynote presentations, interactive workshops, breakout sessions, and panel discussions, all crafted to align with SCDN's mission of strengthening district capacities to meet New York State Standards. A significant portion of the meeting is dedicated to engaging with New York State Education Department colleagues, ensuring participants are informed about standard and assessment updates, policy/regulation/legislative updates, and to collaborate on statewide educational initiatives. Through these interactions, attendees are equipped to implement state-aligned strategies and drive continuous improvement in their districts.

The January SCDN Executive Committee Day and a Half Winter Retreat is a pivotal meeting designed to provide focused time for planning and coordination among the leadership of the Staff and Curriculum Development Network (SCDN). This retreat brings together the Executive Committee to shape the vision and direction of SCDN's work for the upcoming year, ensuring alignment with statewide initiatives and the diverse needs of regions across New York State. Purpose of the Retreat The retreat serves as a cornerstone for:

• Designing a cohesive plan for the year's SCDN activities and Collaborative initiatives.

• Ensuring that all regions and Framework Groups are supported with clear guidance and actionable goals.

• Creating an intentional structure for statewide professional learning opportunities that align with state and local priorities.

• Strengthening the collaboration and effectiveness of the Executive Committee as the leadership body of SCDN. The January retreat is essential for the successful planning and implementation of SCDN's mission.
