1. P-20 Collaborative Fall Meeting

During this meeting, we will engage in a prioritizing protocol to determine the focus of the P-20 collaborative for the 25-26 school year. To inform this protocol we will share updates form the Office of Educator Quality and Professional Development and the Office of Higher Education.

2. Early Learning Collaborative November Session

Audience: BOCES leaders who are engaged in Early Learning work

THIS GROUP SEEKS TO SUPPORT THE FOLLOWING TARGET AREAS FOR THE 2025-2026 ACADEMIC YEAR : - Advance the NYSED Literacy Initiative through systematic post-attestation work, with a particular focus on data analysis to inform future instructional support. - Advance writing instruction with evidence informed writing instruction that connects across subjects. - Invest together in NYSED's Pre-K Day, lifting up teacher agency, voice, and sharing best practices. - Align early learning with the NYS Portrait of a Graduate, keeping Culturally Responsive Sustaining Education (CR-SE) practices at the center. - A space to share early learning resources while creating space for discussion and practical application. **Specific agenda items for each session will be sent in advance of each meeting

4. SCDN Member Meeting - December 2025

The Staff and Curriculum Development Network (SCDN) hosts a comprehensive 1 1/2 day meeting four times a year, bringing together representatives from each BOCES and the Big 5 school districts in New York State. These extended sessions are designed to foster professional learning, provide networking, and deep collaboration, for SCDN members to learn with and from one another. A main emphasis is on aligning with and supporting the initiatives of the New York State Education Department. The agenda often features keynote presentations, interactive workshops, breakout sessions, and panel discussions, all crafted to align with SCDN's mission of strengthening district capacities to meet New York State Standards. A significant portion of the meeting is dedicated to engaging with New York State Education Department colleagues, ensuring participants are informed about standard and assessment updates, policy/regulation/legislative updates, and to collaborate on statewide educational initiatives. Through these interactions, attendees are equipped to implement state-aligned strategies and drive continuous improvement in their districts.

5. Student Support Services Collaborative

This year-long professional learning community supports educational administrators in advancing the strategic integration of Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) goals and benchmarks through collaboration with NY Inspires and state-led equity initiatives. The focus is on embedding restorative practices to foster inclusive, emotionally safe environments that promote healing, accountability, and community-building. Aligned with student support services, this initiative strengthens leaders' capacity to model and sustain practices that nurture identity, agency, belonging, and collaborative problem-solving. Using an interdisciplinary lens, participants will connect this work to culturally responsive-sustaining education and whole-child development. ***This registration roster will be used to invite participants for all events. Register even if you only plan to attend one meeting***

The focal areas of these meetings are to: Facilitate the dissemination of timely and relevant updates from the New York State Education Department (NYSED) Office of Accountability to members of the Continuous Improvement Collaborative (BOCES representatives), ensuring alignment and awareness across the field. Serve as a collaborative advisory group to the NYSED Office of Accountability by providing constructive feedback, field-based insights, and professional perspectives upon request, supporting informed decision-making and continuous refinement of statewide initiatives. Partner with the NYSED Office of Accountability to build the capacity of Continuous Improvement Collaborative members through targeted professional learning, with the expectation that participants will turnkey key learnings and strategies within their respective regions.

The January SCDN Executive Committee Day and a Half Winter Retreat is a pivotal meeting designed to provide focused time for planning and coordination among the leadership of the Staff and Curriculum Development Network (SCDN). This retreat brings together the Executive Committee to shape the vision and direction of SCDN's work for the upcoming year, ensuring alignment with statewide initiatives and the diverse needs of regions across New York State. Purpose of the Retreat The retreat serves as a cornerstone for:


• Designing a cohesive plan for the year's SCDN activities and initiatives.


• Ensuring that all regions and Framework Groups are supported with clear guidance and actionable goals.


• Creating an intentional structure for statewide professional learning opportunities that align with state and local priorities.


• Strengthening the collaboration and effectiveness of the Executive Committee as the leadership body of SCDN. The January retreat is essential for the successful planning and implementation of SCDN's mission.
