This is registration for the NYS S/CDN OSIP Collaborative and its subgroups for 2025-2026 school year.

The OSIP Collaborative is a statewide team within the Staff/Curriculum Development Network (SCDN) that works in close partnership with the New York State Education Department's Office of Standards and Instructional Programs (OSIP). Together, the Collaborative and OSIP provide leadership, guidance, and support in advancing New York State's P-12 learning standards, instructional practices, program requirements, and graduation expectations.

To maximize impact, the OSIP Collaborative is organized into focused subgroups. Each subgroup aligns its efforts with the overarching mission while tailoring its work to specific NYSED priorities. Collectively, these teams ensure that guidance and resources developed at the state level are informed by regional expertise and accessible to all stakeholders.

Current Subgroup Descriptions

Standards
The Standards group will lead the development of processes to prioritize, format, and integrate New York State Learning Standards in ways that foster coherence and usability across disciplines.

STEM
The STEM group will focus on emerging and interdisciplinary areas that reflect the evolving needs of New York students and communities.

Humanities
The Humanities group will advance learning in history, civics, literacy, and the arts.

NY Inspires
The NY Inspires group will ensure clear communication and practical guidance for BOCES and districts as they implement the NY Inspires Plan.

This year-long professional learning community supports educational administrators in advancing the strategic integration of Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) goals and benchmarks through collaboration with NY Inspires and state-led equity initiatives. The focus is on embedding restorative practices to foster inclusive, emotionally safe environments that promote healing, accountability, and community-building. Aligned with student support services, this initiative strengthens leaders' capacity to model and sustain practices that nurture identity, agency, belonging, and collaborative problem-solving. Using an interdisciplinary lens, participants will connect this work to culturally responsive-sustaining education and whole-child development. ***This registration roster will be used to invite participants for all events. The Staff and Curriculum Development Network (SCDN) hosts a comprehensive 1 1/2 day meeting four times a year, bringing together representatives from each BOCES and the Big 5 school districts in New York State. These extended sessions are designed to foster professional learning, provide networking, and deep collaboration, for SCDN members to learn with and from one another. A main emphasis is on aligning with and supporting the initiatives of the New York State Education Department. The agenda often features keynote presentations, interactive workshops, breakout sessions, and panel discussions, all crafted to align with SCDN's mission of strengthening district capacities to meet New York State Standards. A significant portion of the meeting is dedicated to engaging with New York State Education Department colleagues, ensuring participants are informed about standard and assessment updates, policy/regulation/legislative updates, and to collaborate on statewide educational initiatives. Through these interactions, attendees are equipped to implement state-aligned strategies and drive continuous improvement in their districts.

The focal areas of these meetings are to: Facilitate the dissemination of timely and relevant updates from the New York State Education Department (NYSED) Office of Accountability to members of the Continuous Improvement Collaborative (BOCES representatives), ensuring alignment and awareness across the field. Serve as a collaborative advisory group to the NYSED Office of Accountability by providing constructive feedback, field-based insights, and professional perspectives upon request, supporting informed decision-making and continuous refinement of statewide initiatives. Partner with the NYSED Office of Accountability to build the capacity of Continuous Improvement Collaborative members through targeted professional learning, with the expectation that participants will turnkey key learnings and strategies within their respective regions.

This is an organizational meeting for the Assessment Collaborative planning and steering committee.

On the heels of NYSED launching the Assessment Strategy webinar, BOCES and Big 5 instructional leaders are positioned to support schools and districts in the work around developing local assessment strategies. This session will be devoted to collaboratively ideate and develop supports to use in the work of supporting schools and districts. We ask members to come with their thinking caps and be ready to roll up their sleeves as we work to design tools we can use in this work.

The focal areas of these meetings are to: Facilitate the dissemination of timely and relevant updates from the New York State Education Department (NYSED) Office of Accountability to members of the Continuous Improvement Collaborative (BOCES representatives), ensuring alignment and awareness across the field. The SCDN Executive Committee Day and a Half Summer Retreat is a pivotal meeting designed to provide focused time for planning and coordination among the leadership of the Staff and Curriculum Development Network (SCDN). This retreat brings together the Executive Committee to shape the vision and direction of SCDN's work for the upcoming year, ensuring alignment with statewide initiatives and the diverse needs of regions across New York State. Purpose of the Retreat The retreat serves as a cornerstone for:



• Designing a cohesive plan for the year's SCDN activities and initiatives.



• Ensuring that all regions and Collaboratives are supported with clear guidance and actionable goals.



• Creating an intentional structure for statewide professional learning opportunities that align with state and local priorities.



• Strengthening the collaboration and effectiveness of the Executive Committee as the leadership body of SCDN. The summer retreat is essential for the successful planning and implementation of SCDN's mission.

Join BOCES and Big 5 leaders from across the region for the 2026 BOCES Summer Leadership Conference, held July 23-24 at the Turning Stone Resort in Verona, New York. This year's theme, Preparing the Next Generation: Learning Together, Leading Together, centers on strengthening our collective capacity to lead with purpose, collaboration, and vision. Over one and a half days, participants will engage in shared learning experiences designed to deepen leadership practice, foster connection, and inspire innovative thinking for the future of educational services. The conference brings together BOCES and Big 5 leadership teams to reflect, grow, and chart a course toward more unified and impactful leadership. We are excited to welcome Allison Whiting of Intent as our keynote speaker. In her keynote address, Leading Better Together: The Power of Interconnected Leadership, Allison will explore how strong relationships, shared purpose, and collaborative leadership can transform organizations and empower teams to meet the evolving needs of the students and communities we serve. We look forward to learning and leading together as we prepare the next generation. Note, this registration serves as a placeholder.
