Artificial Intelligence (AI) is rapidly transforming various sectors, including education, and school librarians are uniquely positioned to harness its potential.

Participants in this fully online course will start with basic AI concepts and applications to demystify the technology. School librarians and classroom teachers will then learn to identify how they can collaborate to design curricula incorporating AI literacy ensuring students understand both the benefits and ethical considerations of AI technology while developing critical thinking and digital literacy skills.

Effective AI policies for schools are essential to address privacy concerns, data security, and the ethical use of technology. In the final modules, participants will explore classroom and schoolwide guidelines to ensure that AI tools are used responsibly.

As AI continues to evolve, it will undoubtedly reshape educational landscapes, making it imperative for school librarians and educators to stay ahead of the curve and prepare students to participate actively in a technology-driven world.

You will gain hands-on experience with text-to-speech, translation, closed captioning, speech-to-text, and other essential features to support ELLs and diverse learners.

No matter what step you are in the process, join the Graduation Pathways PD to unpack the NYSED criteria for new graduation pathways like the Seal of Civic Readiness, Seal of Biliteracy, and the Individualized Arts Assessment Pathway. Local Civics and the Sullivan County Teacher Center are partnering for the second year to support strategic planning for piloting and scaling pathways. Local Civics will facilitate these in-person sessions, provide planning frameworks, and share case studies from partners across the state. We encourage you to participate with multiple teachers and leaders from your districts to maximize your strategic planning and collaboration with other teams. These sessions will help all participants bring new innovative learning experiences to your students. The Sullivan County Teacher Center is hosting this second year of Pathways PD to bring together educators across component districts and to support planning for project-based learning and student portfolios. 7. Numeracy Briefs
