Students often struggle with independent work not because they lack understanding, but because the executive function skills needed to start, sustain, and complete tasks are still developing. This blended workshop helps educators examine independent work through an executive function lens, focusing on skills such as task initiation, attention, planning, and self-regulation. Participants explore practical strategies to structure independent work time, build clear routines, and support students in managing distractions and maintaining engagement. Educators also learn how to scaffold independence and gradually shift responsibility to students. Participants leave with classroom-ready tools and instructional approaches that help students work more independently, sustain focus, and successfully complete tasks. Seats available for pre-registration. You may attend the virtual session on July 8, 2026 from 10:00-11:30 AM OR access the session asynchronously until 8/31/26.
