This graduate-level course empowers K-12 educators to understand and address the growing mental health challenges facing today's students. Focusing on the impact of smartphones, social media, and screen-centered childhoods, the course examines how these changes have contributed to rising rates of anxiety, depression, and disengagement. Educators will explore the developmental effects of digital technologies, the decline in unstructured play and face-to-face interaction, and the shifting nature of adolescence. Through research analysis, discussion, and practical application, participants will learn strategies to foster resilience, connection, and emotional well-being in the classroom and school.
