9. New Teacher Network

Program: ESC of Central Ohio Achievement & Leadership Services

Audience: New teachers or teachers with less than 5 year's experience

Dates: 7/30/2026 to 7/31/2026

The New Teacher Network will provide new teachers with necessary tools to start their educational journey on the right foot. A strong start can make the difference between turnover and retention, and between making the grade and great outcomes. Join me for a two-day interactive workshop. On day one, we will tackle the classroom and community with such topics as classroom and time management, engagement and motivation, and differentiation. On the second day, we will focus on communication and care where we will discuss communicating with stakeholders, engaging in self-care, and reflecting on practice.

I am excited to share my research as well as my experience as I have over 20 years of teaching experience as a high school English teacher as well as a PhD in Curriculum & Instruction. In addition, I am both a mentor for the Resident Educator Program as well as a state trainer for the RE Program. My passion is working with new teachers and setting them up to thrive not just to survive in their first few years of teaching.

Strengthen your expertise in supporting school‑age students with low‑incidence disabilities and school‑based medical needs. This learning experience offers a practical, inside look at how to create high-quality instructional environments for students with complex needs.

This book study explores foundational early childhood mathematics concepts, including number sense, counting, sets, patterns, measurement, shapes, and spatial awareness. Participants will examine ow high-quality materials and curriculum-aligned practices support young children's mathematical thinking through play, exploration, and intentional instruction. Through discussion and reflection, educators will strengthen effective math teaching practices that promote problem-solving, conceptual understanding, and confidence in young learners.
