Become the educator you've always wanted to be with this proven transformational program. This course will highlight the foundational Empowered Educator of mindset, emotional intelligence, and cognitive neuroscience. Here you will get the skills and strategies to integrate professional excellence and personal well-being into your classroom. This is a 3-month, self-paced virtual course for your convenience, with one monthly group coaching call for support and 15 total hours of professional development. The virtual synchronous group coaching session will be held on the 2nd Wednesday of each month, beginning at 7 pm. This 3-month self-paced course expands on the concepts covered in THRIVE 1 to help you seamlessly integrate SEL into your daily routine, foster emotional intelligence, and build resilience. The Regional Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment (CIA) Council has three main goals: - To guide how TST BOCES' Regional School Support (RSS) services are used, including overseeing and setting the agenda for all regional content networks and councils. - To support teachers and administrators by providing best practices in curriculum, instruction, and assessment to help all students achieve academically. - To provide guidance and support with updates on new initiatives from NYSED, such as NY Inspires, NY STEPS, and regionalization. In this session participants will learn about the research around reading fluency and best practices for assessment and interpretation of fluency measures. Participants will learn about why some students struggle with fluency and how to provideintervention to promote reading fluency. Participants are encouraged to bring individual or classwide Oral Reading Fluency data to analyze during the session. We encourage school teams and/or individuals from multiple disciplines to attend including: administrators, school psychologists, reading teachers, classroom teachers, speech and language pathologists, special education teachers, and other school professionals. This group is designed for educators in the region who have a strong interest in math in their buildings and/or districts. The purpose of the Regional Math Network is to promote communication and collaboration between districts, inform mathematical practices, stay current with NYSED information, and enhance math education in our region by engaging and participating in professional work groups. This network's framework will include areas regarding curriculum, instruction, and assessment. Days where elementary and secondary educators meet separately will feature learning opportunities for new practices and collaborative planning on implementation. Combined sessions will feature opportunities to reflect on implementation at all levels and refine practice. Elementary and Secondary educators will meet separately on October 9, and May 14. All educators will meet together for reflection and support on January 29 and March 19. There is no registration fee for this activity.

75. Science of Reading Session 9: Putting It All Together: Choosing a Curriculum, Selecting Assessments, and Designing Effective Interventions to Meet All Students' Needs

This culminating session will provide participants with the opportunity to synthesize their knowledge of the Science of Reading. There will be an emphasis on application of concepts discussed throughout the series to design system level changes. For example, we will provide tools for districts to evaluate their language arts curriculum and assessments. An examination of district assessment and intervention practices will also occur. Participants will be encouraged to set goals for the following school year with regards to implementation of Science of Reading-aligned instruction and intervention. We encourage school teams and/or individuals from multiple disciplines to attend including: administrators, school psychologists, reading teachers, classroom teachers, speech and language pathologists, special education teachers, and other school professionals.
