As New York State transitions toward competency-based graduation requirements under the statewide Portrait of a Graduate framework, educators need practical, manageable systems to bring these competencies to life. This interactive, hands-on workshop equips K-12 teachers, administrators, and support staff with actionable strategies to map, track, and assess essential skills using digital tools. Participants will audit their district's existing tech ecosystem, explore frameworks aligning NYS POG competencies with ISTE, UDL, and NYS CS&DF standards, unpack the anatomy of effective digital portfolios (Artifact + Context + Reflection), evaluate digital assessment and feedback strategies and discover how targeted platforms shift students from passive tech consumers to active creators. Through hands-on prototyping time tailored to teachers, administrators, and other staff, participants will curate a digital toolkit, develop custom instructional or leadership assets, and walk away with a ready-to-implement strategy to help students showcase future-ready competency.
