This leadership-focused professional learning session is designed for administrators, instructional leaders, and coaches seeking to create sustainable, system-level implementation of future-ready instructional practices. Participants will explore what aligned instruction looks like when the New York State Computer Science and Digital Fluency (CS/DF) Standards, Project Based Learning (PBL), NY Inspires initiatives, and the New York State Portrait of a Graduate (POG) work together to support deeper learning and student success.
Through guided reflection and collaborative discussion, leaders will examine why coherent and aligned instructional systems are essential for ensuring consistency, long-term impact, and equitable student experiences across classrooms and grade levels. Participants will analyze current implementation practices and identify opportunities to strengthen instructional alignment and support meaningful learning experiences districtwide.
The session will focus on practical, high-leverage leadership strategies such as embedding CS/DF "look-fors” into instructional walkthroughs, supporting PBL implementation through Professional Learning Communities (PLCs), and aligning professional learning opportunities to NY Inspires priorities and graduate competencies. Leaders will collaborate to refine ideas, share implementation strategies, and develop actionable next steps.
Participants will leave with a customized 30-60 day action plan that includes clear connections to CS/DF standards, PBL instructional practices, Portrait of a Graduate competencies, and sustainable systems-level leadership strategies.
