1. High Impact Tutoring Professional Learning Series

Program: ESC of Central Ohio Student Services

Audience: District Leaders, Building Principals

This compact two-day virtual series is designed to help district leaders evaluate and/or design their own tutoring programs. Participants will gain a strong understanding of the research behind high-impact tutoring, analyze a case study, and reflect on their instructional supports. Participants will receive a High Impact Planning Workbook, a Tutor Playbook, support for resource management, communication support, and much more! Following this series, district leaders will be able to: 1.)Articulate their High Impact tutoring approach through key decisions grounded in research-based design principles and how students will benefit 2.)Determine the data source(s) to identify and group eligible students 3.)Hire and initially train tutors using aligned, high quality instructional materials (HQIM) and develop a plan for ongoing tutor support 4.)Ensure all sites understand the purpose of tutoring, how teachers and tutors work together, and how to support tutoring 5.)Draft a communication plan for all adults involved *This is virtual and we will provide the link following registration* If you have any questions or concerns please contact Melanie McGue at melanie.mcgue@escco.org

7. Poetry Foundation Satellite Teachers Institute/Performance

Program: ESC of Central Ohio Achievement & Leadership Services

Audience: 7th-12th grade teachers

Dates: 7/16/2025 to 7/17/2025

This two-day institute is a smaller version of the Poetry Foundation's five-day institute held in Chicago each year. Each day is comprised of two 90-minute seminars (led by Centennial High School teacher Sarah Barry, local poet/community organizer Scott Woods, Denison University Professor of English and former poetry editor of the Kenyon Review David Baker, and Texas-based writer and former Poetry Foundation's Young People's Poet Laureate, Naomi Shihab Nye) and one 60-minute workshop (led by local poets Cynthia Amoah and Ajanae Dawkins). Nye will also headline a public reading with local students and some of the teachers in the institute who would like to read. There will be smaller short break-out sessions each day led by two Lead Teachers from Chicago.

Lunch is provided each day. Dinner is provided on July 17th, as well, prior to the public reading.

•Best practices (3 case exercises on errors in threat assessment; review of meetings, coaching, and threats to self)

•FERPA and information sharing

•Fairness and equity, role of law enforcement

15. Real Reflective Rhythms: New Teacher Network

Program: ESC of Central Ohio Achievement & Leadership Services

Audience: New teachers or teachers with less than 5 year's experience

Dates: 9/4/2025 to 12/11/2025

Are you a novice teacher or a teacher who wants a refresh in the profession? During this series, we will explore the instrumental topics in a teacher's career including the classroom, the craft, the conversation, and the community of education. We will delve deeply into the art of teaching with practical ways to address the complexity of the profession. By attending all four sessions, you will be a part of the ESCCO New Teacher Network which will provide you opportunities to stay connected and informed throughout your teaching career. In addition, if interested, you will receive one free 30 minute coaching session by one of our RE trained mentors.

There will be 4 sessions, and 2 options for each session.
