1. Cancelled: Hybrid: The Voice Lab: Exploring Technique, Repertoire and Rehearsal

In this workshop, voice and choral educators will explore best practices for teaching vocal technique, selecting and sequencing repertoire, and structuring efficient rehearsals. Participants will virtually share classroom tested lessons, rehearsal strategies, musician spotlights, and instructional resources designed to support quality choral instruction

This workshop will be 2 hours of independent work and 2 hours of a Google meet with participants.

  • Before the course (1 credit): Contribute to the shared slide deck with warm ups, rehearsal routines, repertoire ideas, assessment, questions and more!

  • On March 5th (2 credits): Join us LIVE from 6-8 pm as we will share our ideas, have live demos and Q&A.

  • After the course (1 credits): Put these ideas into action by creating your own slide decks, assessments visuals, refined routines or rehearsals, submit for credit.

    *Partial credit can be given*

    This is designed for PreK-12 music educators. We will use break out rooms by topics and grade if needed.

    Regardless of which grade you teach, this professional development will equip you with practical strategies and time to learn them to help you enrich your teaching practice and support student creativity.

  • 2. Hybrid- The Art of Craft: Teaching Traditional and Contemporary Craft

    Ready to introduce fiber arts, weaving, marbling, paper craft and more into your art curriculum? Need advice on how to manage the supplies involved with craft based art?

    During this workshop, we will explore the rich world of traditional and contemporary craft in the art room. We will cover techniques, tools, supply management, project ideas, and creative ways to bring craft practices into PreK-12 classrooms. This workshop is designed to inspire and support both new and experienced art educators.

    Come join us for the virtual sharing of your best craft projects, supply management, favorite materials and more.

  • 7. IAAP - Planning for Year 3 of the Individualized Arts Assessment Pathway- Meeting 3

    Program: Arts in Education

    Audience: K-12 Art and Music Teachers, Counselors and Administration

    Dates: 4/7/2026

    Join us as we continue to navigate the steps of implementing the IAAP in your district. This workshop will create an outline for year THREE of the IAAP. You do not need to be actively participating in IAAP to join us, we are creating the plan for the upcoming years. During this workshop we will:

  • Creating localized assessments based on the NYS Learning Standards for the Arts (including rubrics, self assessment, written reflection)
  • Developing a communication plan for staff, administration, parents and students.
  • Design a process for submitting final portfolios for assessment.

    It is recommended that districts:

  • Send representatives from both the art and music departments to help in the decision making process.

  • 8. Movement Is Music: Dalcroze Strategies for Classroom Teachers

    What if movement wasn't an "extra” but the most direct path to musical understanding? Movement Is Music is a highly practical workshop designed to help teachers bring purposeful, musical movement into their classrooms-whether you're brand new to Dalcroze Eurhythmics or a seasoned practitioner looking to refresh & expand your toolkit.Participants will experience & unpack a wide range of ready to use lesson ideas that connect movement directly to rhythm, meter, phrasing, form, expression & musicianship. You'll walk away with concrete strategies for integrating movement into general music, instrumental, choral & classroom curricula, even in settings with limited time, space or resources. This workshop emphasizes: Practical, classroom-tested movement activities you can use immediately Clear entry points for teachers new to Dalcroze principles Deeper refinements & extensions for experienced Dalcrozians Adaptations for real world teaching contexts(large classes, limited space, mixed abilities) Building musical understanding through embodied experience-not just explanation

    Rather than focusing on theory alone, this workshop centers on doing, reflecting & translating movement experiences into meaningful classroom practice.

    About the Presenter:Anthony Molinaro is a nationally recognized presenter, music educator & Dalcroze practitioner. He is the co-author of Make It Music, a widely used resource for movement-based music instruction & the creator of MusicXT, a popular platform offering videos, articles & practical teaching tools for music educators. Anthony regularly presents at state, national & international conferences & is known for his engaging down to earth approach that bridges traditional Dalcroze principles with the realities of today's classrooms.

    Whether you're just beginning your Dalcroze journey or looking to strengthen & modernize your practice, Movement Is Music will leave you energized, confident & equipped with tools you can use the next day.

    Join us for an immersive professional learning experience centered on the rich history, architecture and cultural significance of the Landmark Theater. During this private tour, participants will explore the theater's ornate design, performance spaces and behind the scenes areas of this nearly 100 year old historic venue.

    The guided experience will provide historical context for the theater's role in the performing arts, community life and cultural preservation. Following the tour, educators will engage in a facilitated Q&A session and peer led discussion focused on instructional connections and classroom application.

    Participants arrive at 12:45pm.

    After the tour will we have time for questions and peer led discussions.
