1. Elementary Principal Leadership Series

This series will focus on instructional leadership and gaining the skills to be an instructional leader, move instructional work forward and assess effectiveness of a leader's efforts in the role of Elementary Principals.

2. **CLOSED Registration: Trauma, Illness, and Grief Training

Program: Professional Development Unit

Dates: 9/18/2025 to 1/14/2026

TIG builds capacity in school communities to respond to needs arising from experiences of trauma, illness, and grief. Contextualized within your setting, the TIG Core Curriculum is designed to spiral to create learning pathways to begin with awareness and move to implementation. Participants will be equipped to transform their own approaches, contribute to the knowledge and skills of others, and inform revisions of procedure and policy. This course does not offer open enrollment. Participants must be pre-approved by their superintendent or agency director.

3. Middle School/High School Principal Leadership Series

Audience: Middle School Principals, High School Principals

Explore the NYSED Numeracy Briefs with a Leadership Community

Join school and district leaders from across the region for a virtual professional learning series focused on the New York State Numeracy Briefs. These sessions are designed to help you:
* Learn systematic ways to cultivate conditions and supports that foster adult learning and collaboration.
* Deepen your understanding of how to lead and support effective Tier 1 Numeracy Instructional Best Practices at all levels for all students.
* Connect with administrators and teacher leaders who share similar goals and vision for mathematics instruction.
* Explore how evidence from the briefs can guide decisions around professional development, curriculum, instruction, intervention, and assessment.

Each session will provide structured time to unpack key ideas from the briefs, exchange insights, and reflect on how these concepts fit your local context leaving you with both clarity and a stronger network of colleagues.

5. SLS Council Meeting

Program: School Library System

Dates: 10/14/2025 to 5/19/2026

The SLS Council meetings are designed to be a bridge between the School Library System team and the school librarians in each of the districts and non-public schools that are members of the system. Each district has a designated Council member who is required to attend the meetings but all members are welcome to attend. The morning will be the meeting and the afternoon will be a professional learning opportunity.

6. Cayuga-Onondaga BOCES Curriculum and Staff Development Council

Program: Professional Development Unit

Audience: Administrators

Dates: 10/20/2025 to 5/18/2026

CSDC is a working group dedicated to developing the capacity of teachers and leaders in the CO BOCES region. Meetings include NYSED updates, collegial sharing, and collaborative discussions about curriculum, instruction and assessment topics. Members of the group are tasked with:
* Participating in discussions around current teaching and learning practices
* Serving as a liaison between their districts and BOCES regarding professional learning needs
* Sharing information about curriculum, instruction, and assessment with their leadership teams and teachers.

7. LETRS 3e by Lexia for Units 1-4 (First Year)

Lexia LETRS professional learning for elementary educators is an investment in teachers' literacy knowledge and professional practice. Teachers gain essential knowledge to master the fundamentals of literacy instruction required to transform student learning. Developed by Dr. Louisa Moats and leaders in the field of literacy, LETRS teaches the skills needed to master the foundational and fundamentals of reading and writing instruction-phonological awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, comprehension, and written language.

LETRS has 8 Units with 6-8 sessions per unit. What the educator "will learn” is identified at the start of each session and is listed below.

Learning Goals:

First year: LETRS Volume I (Units 1-4)

Focuses on the Word Recognition strands of Scarborough's Rope model through units centered on:

* Phonology

* Basic and advanced phonics

* Screening

* Educational and diagnostic assessment

Second year: LETRS Volume II (Units 5-8) **To occur next year.**

Focuses on the Language Comprehension strands of Scarborough's Rope model through units centered on:

* Vocabulary

* Language and reading

* Comprehension

* Writing

**Cost includes first year, units 1-4, only. Cost is based on 20 participants. Price will be adjusted according to actual enrollment. District is responsible to pay for enrollment regardless of attendance.**

8. Seal of Biliteracy Consortium Meetings

Audience: World Lang Teachers, Counselors, ELL/ENL Teachers, Administrators

The THREE Seal of Biliteracy Consortium meetings have been planned to revolve around reporting deadlines and feedback from participants in CO BOCES World Languages Day. At the meetings, participants will review information and share practices. This year we will also work to deepen our understanding of the research projects and presentations in order to create consistency within our consortium.

11. Individual Arts Assessment Pathway (IAAP) Consortium

Program: Professional Development Unit

Audience: Middle & High School Teachers of the Arts (art, music, dance, and theater)

The Individual Arts Assessment Pathway (IAAP) is a plus one pathway to graduation that highlights students with strengths in the arts. A major component to the IAAP is a portfolio of student work and reflection. This portfolio must contain all mandatory elements from the IAAP implementation guides. This consortium will use the implementation guides and student workbooks to develop a plan for implementing the IAAP requirements. Teachers will be given time to collaborate with other teachers from around the region, so they use their collective understanding and backgrounds to implement the IAAP within their district.

Please note that teachers that are attending should be in the implementation phase and their districts should be approved to offer the IAAP to students. The work being done will be a collaborative effort to work through the challenges of implementation.

12. CARE Network- Middle School (grades 4-8) Session 2

The Regional CARE (Collaborative Action for Resilient Education) Network is a new collaborative opportunity designed specifically for student service providers (counselors, social workers, psychologists, mental health providers) to come together to discuss their roles, study best practices, and share and borrow ideas. Participants will network with regional colleagues, obtain updates from NYSED, and dive deeper into Tier 2 and 3 supports and resources. This session will be facilitated by the Behavior Excellence Coaches from the Instructional Support Services Department. There will be 4 meetings across the school year with extended learning opportunities. There will be professional presentations provided in the areas of Trauma, SEL, Restorative Practices, and Mental Health. This group will heavily focus on supporting grade levels 4-8 however all are welcome.

This meeting will bring stakeholders together to deepen shared understanding, review current practices, and identify opportunities for regional collaboration. Participants will engage in discussion, resource sharing, and planning to strengthen community-school partnerships across districts.

Whether you're just beginning the Community Schools journey or expanding existing work, this advisory group offers a space to connect, learn, and align efforts for the year ahead.

15. ENL Teachers Collaborative Community

This session will be facilitated by a regional practitioner with support from the Professional Development Unit. During this session we will also review the Science of Reading for English Language Learners toolkit that has been recently released by OBEWL.

This series is a modular, multi-tier program, designed for teachers, school leaders, and district administrators to strengthen their capacity to understand and engage with AI in the context of learning and instruction.

This tier focuses on instruction and policy that leverages AI to support student learning.

1. Adapt assignments and learning outcomes to preserve critical thinking and creativity.

2. Design lessons or projects that leverage AI for student inquiry, collaboration, or content creation.

21. Earth & Space and Life Science (Bio) Collaborative Community

Audience: HS Course Earth and Space Science and Life Science teachers

Dates: 3/18/2026

This interactive work day is designed specifically for teachers of ES & LS Science to come together to discuss their craft, study best practices, share and borrow ideas. The meeting will start whole group with a share out and review of state ed materials. Then the group will break off into the two disciplines (earth science and life science - bio) to dig deeper into the materials and plan instruction to meet the needs of the investigations and new assessments. This session will be facilitated by a regional practitioner with support from a CO BOCES representative.

22. Therapeutic Crisis Intervention for Schools (Level One) Spring Session

Program: Professional Development Unit

Audience: teachers, assistants, paraprofessionals, support staff, administrators, and additional school personnel

Dates: 3/23/2026 to 3/27/2026

Therapeutic Crisis Intervention in Schools (TCIS) is a student crisis management system designed to prevent crises from occurring as well as training staff to de-escalate potential crises, effectively manage acute crises, learn constructive ways to handle stressful situations, and develop a learning circle within the organization. Participants will be trained over the course of three days in active listening, behavior support techniques, emotional first aid, crisis co-regulation, the life space interview, and the stress model of crisis. This training is available for teachers, assistants, paraprofessionals, support staff, administrators, and additional school personnel.

The fourth day will be optional for schools needing restraint training for staff.
Registrants outside of the Cayuga-Onondaga districts will be charged a $150 fee for this workshop.
