Target Audience:DELAWARE COUNTY DISTRICT OR DCIU ONLY Administrators, Teachers, Teacher Assistants, Psychologists, Guidance Counselors, Behavior Specialists, Nurses, Bus Drivers/Aides who has successfully completed the initial 2-day Safety-Care™Certification Training

Description: one-day training that provides a complete overview of the initial Safety-Care™training curriculum. Participants must demonstrate competency in all areas of the Safety-Care™curriculum and will be tested for proficiency through the demonstrated competencies and a written test. Upon successful completion of the course, participants will maintain their certification for one full year. The one-day re-certification course is required annually.

Prerequisites: Must have passed the initial 2-day Safety-Care™Training to take the re-certification course.


Registration Fee: $55.00 Visa,Mastercard, or Purchase Order. DCIU/Delaware County District Staffs DCIU STAFF MUST PROVIDE A PROGRAM BUDGET CODE AS PO NUMBER.

THIS COURSE REQUIRES PHYSICAL EXERTION. PARTICIPANTS MUST BE ABLE TO EXERT THEMSELVES PHYSICALLY AND HAVE FLEXIBILITY OF MOVEMENT THAT INCLUDES KNEELING. A PARTICIPANT MAY OPT OUT OF ACTIVITIES AT ANY TIME IF NECESSARY, AND MUST NOTIFY THE TRAINER OF ANY INABILITY TO PARTICIPATE. PARTICIPANTS WILL BE ASKED TO SIGN A WAIVER ON THE FIRST DAY OF THE TRAINING ACKNOWLEDGING THAT PARTICIPATION COULD POTENTIALLY CAUSE SERIOUS INJURY. PLEASE WEAR COMFORTABLE CLOTHING AND STURDY SHOES.

2. Safety-Care™ Initial Two-Day Training

Audience: DELAWARE COUNTY DISTRICTS AND DCIU ONLY School Staff: Administrators, Teachers, Teacher Assistants, Psychologists, Guidance Counselors, Behavior Specialists, Nurses, Bus Drivers/Aides.

Dates: 6/4/2024 to 6/5/2024

Target Audience: DELAWARE COUNTY DISTRICTS AND DCIU ONLY School Staff: Administrators, Teachers, Teacher Assistants, Psychologists, Guidance Counselors, Behavior Specialists, Nurses, Bus Drivers/Aides.

Description: two-day course that provides a broad set of methods and techniques for reducing the likelihood of behavioral crisis and improving staff safety. Staff will learn, practice, and demonstrate competency in differential reinforcement and basic preventative safety. They will learn how to safely cope with serious behavioral incidents that include: basic physical skills, releases, leadership during behavioral crises, and procedures for safe holding. Trainees who successfully pass the course will receive a Safety-Care™training certificate. Recertification is required annually through a recertification course.
