Understanding & Implementing Common Core Standards, is an interactive computer-based instruction course designed to give students a deeper understanding of the rationale for and structure of this particular standards-based framework.
Students will learn a number of factors that contributed to the overall design of the Common Core Standards as well as practical pedagogical approaches that will support practitioners working toward deeper implementation. Students will reflect on the instructional "shifts" emphasized throughout the Common Core Standards and contextualize the shifts based on the diverse population of students course participants serve. Understanding & Implementing Common Core Standards will also provide connections to a variety of instructional considerations that will support implementation regardless of educational context. 3 Graduate Credits.

Participants have maximum of 1 year and a minimum of two weeks to complete the course. Course materials will be sent directly from Virtual Education Software, Inc. (VESi).

Online Requirement:
Requires, reliable/stable high speed internet connection.

Students must obtain an overall score of 70% or higher, with no individual exam score below 50%, and successfully complete ALL writing assignments to pass the course.
