Registration for the annual NYSCATE conference is available through TLI annual membership. For details about this years' conference follow this link: NYSCATE Annual Conference Website. Up to eight registrations available with annual membership. Cancellations are required in MLP 35 days in advance to avoid charges to the district/LHRIC Contract for services in accordance with NYSCATE registration fees. Registration for one day or full conference are covered. No costs associate with travel, lodging or pre/post conference activities are covered with this service. 2. TLI - Winter Event

Theme: Digital Wellness for the School Community

Keynote Speaker: Kristelle Lavallee is the Content Strategist at the Center on Media and Child Health (CMCH) at Boston Children's Hospital. Ms. Lavallee holds a B.A. in Psychology and Communication Arts from Gordon College and an M.A. in Child Development from Tufts University, where she based her thesis on her research for the PBS show, WordGirl. After graduating, Ms. Lavallee worked as a private school teacher at the Park Street School in Boston where she founded the Media Literacy Club for 5th and 6th graders. After leaving Park Street, Ms. Lavallee took a position at KidsCOOK Productions as an Associate Producer for KickinKitchen.TV(now KickinNutrition.TV), a scientifically-based, multimedia platform dedicated to educating tweens about living healthfully through nutrition and exercise. This mid winter event is an opportunity to hear from subject matter experts and network with peers fro across the region around topics of importance to districts and individuals. Active Learning and Spaces Keynote Speakers: 1) Dr. Lennie Scott-Webber,is a leading thinker on the evolution of what we know about learning, the learner and the learning place. Passionate about the unanswered solutions that leave students behind in their learning, she has pioneered research strategies addressing how the built environment impacts student engagement factors and learner success, and has designed future-focused, evidence-based design applications for 20+ years. She is the Owner & Principal of INSYNC:: Education Research + Design and acting Education Research Leader for DLR Group. Formally: the founding Director of Education Environments Globally for Steelcase Education; tenured, full-professor and chair of two design schools [Canada & USA]; Director of the iLAB Research Center, Radford University; professional interior designer, author, published researcher/speaker.
  • 2) Dr. Robert Dillon back by popular demand Dr. Robert Dillon has served as an educator and leader for the past twenty years. Through this work, he has excelled in change leadership, supporting organization with new ideas and energy, and providing solutions to meet specific organizational needs. Dr. Dillon draws upon his experience, national network, and research based practices to support innovation that impacts learning. Dr. Dillon truly embeds himself in the work of an organization, supporting, coaching, and getting in the weeds where it is needed.

    This day provides opportunities for educators to look deeply at active learning from the perspective of instruction and curriculum design, technology and spaces that bring them to life. Strategies for getting started and continuation of a journey in progress will be presented across the sessions at this event. Up to eight registrations available with annual membership.
