Join us for an in-depth, full-day workshop designed for secondary math teachers looking to strengthen their students' understanding of algebraic concepts through problem strings. Building on the number strings routine, this workshop will focus on using carefully crafted sequences of problems to guide students through increasingly complex algebraic ideas, promoting both conceptual understanding and procedural fluency. Teachers will learn how to scaffold problems in a way that builds on prior knowledge and deepens students' understanding of algebraic reasoning, rather than relying solely on memorization or step-by-step procedures. Learners will engage in mathematical discourse to foster a student-centered classroom community and confident mathematical identities. In the morning we will dive deep to internalize the mathematics and the different representations. In the afternoon, participants will focus on applying the learning to their own classrooms with time to develop lessons and practice implementing them.

Note: If you are a participant of the Making Mathematical Meaning workshop and coaching series, please use this Frontline post instead.
