Introduction to SCAN webinar
This webinar is specifically designed to introduce process tools as a way of helping districts address change and high-stakes issues. It focuses on an overview of Situation Appraisal (SA) as a tool for planning for the reopening of schools after COVID-related closures.

This information session provides a sample experience of key concepts and details that education leaders can expect during TregoED's Strategic Tools for Excellent Problem Solving (S.T.E.P.S.). Join us to get a sense of the practical application and skill-building present in each session during TregoED's S.T.E.P.S. program.


2. TregoED's Strategic Tools for Excellent Problem Solving (S.T.E.P.S.)

Program: Hourly Workshops - Dual

Dates: 11/16/2021 to 2/16/2022

This Act 45 Program will help education leaders build essential skills in collaborative problem solving and decision making. Participants learn practical, systematic methodologies to effectively resolve a school or district's toughest issues. This TregoED S.T.E.P.S. program features skill-building in four research-based, data-driven analytic processes and activities to build practical skills - not just conceptual understanding.

Time: 12:00 - 2:30 PM, All sessions
November 11th & 16th - Situational Appraisal - SCAN
December 2nd & 9th - Decision Analysis - SELECT
January 11th - Potential Problem Analysis - PLAN
January 26th, February 9th & 16th - Problem Analysis - SOLVE

Each segment emphasizes the introduction of concepts and practice on relevant education-related cases. Participants will be asked to complete assignments between segments to apply the concepts to actual work-related issues they face. The workshop design ensures participants leave ready to apply TregoED problem-solving and decision-making processes. TregoED coaching support is provided during all debrief and practice sessions.

Participants leave the S.T.E.P.S. workshop able to:
- demonstrate the basic steps of four analytic processes-Situation Appraisal, Decision Analysis, Potential Problem Analysis and Problem Analysis;
- know when and how the processes apply and how they are related;
- use a shared approach and language for problem-solving and decision making; and
- apply the basic steps of the processes to real issues in their own work environment.
