New Are your teachers designing online courses to be delivered completely asynchronously for the 2021-22 school year? Let us help you strategically build and guide your asynchronous course creation based upon best practices in online learning. Sign up for "The Online Architect*," a ten-module course based on K-12 Quality Matters Standards for designing high-quality online learning. The following topics are included:
- Quality Matters orientation
- Assessment and Measurement
- High-yield instructional strategies
- Classroom environment
- Instructional materials and technology integration
- Organizational structure
- Visual design for navigability, usability, and accessibility
- Copyright, fair use, and Open Education Resources
- Proactive and reactive facilitation strategies
Each module will take approximately 2-2.5 hours to complete and comes with an embedded design challenge that will ask participants to apply the skills directly into their course designs. The course is facilitated by the CCIU Online Learning Team, who will provide participants with personalized feedback and optional coaching sessions. Teachers can engineer successful student asynchronous experiences through intentional planning and design. Let us help your teachers become "Online Architects."
The course is asynchronous and completed at your own pace with optional coaching hours to be determined close to course launch.
You will be given access to this professional learning through Canvas after enrolling. This course has open enrollment through October 21, 2022. All coursework must be completed by November 1, 2022 for Act 48 credit.
Note: During this professional learning activity, we may capture portions of the learning experiences on video to showcase and market programs and services. If you have any objections to this, please communicate with the lead facilitator. Thank you.
