Forging a Path Forward: Designing a Responsive Return Plan
Join national education consultancy, Education Elements, for a two-part virtual institute designed for district leadership teams across New York State who are awaiting guidance on return planning and what the fall could look like for schools.
Uncertainty and the lack of information can be paralyzing. As leaders, we may feel like we cannot make good decisions or share too much because the information we have changes quickly and often becomes out of date or incorrect. Sometimes it can feel like it would be better to just wait.
In this series, we will unpack the steps you can take now to build a responsive return plan even while awaiting further guidance. Steps include:
• Assembling a responsive return planning team
• Developing several potential scenarios for return
• Deciding on knowns and known unknowns for each scenario
• Creating a checklist of triggers/dependencies for activating each scenario
• Prototyping systems, processes, and actions if each scenario is activated
It is recommend that participants attend as district teams. Teams will leave this interactive workshop ready to guide others towards the development of your district's responsive return plan. This workshop is offered in partnership with the Putnam Northern Westchester BOCES and is eligible for COSER Aid.
