1. DATA WAREHOUSE 101

Program: MORIC Data

Dates: 10/24/2025

Join us for a 101, or basic level training on the New York State Data Warehouse. This session will be geared toward new and developing District Data Coordinators, and will cover the basics of the data warehouse and SIRS data reporting, the different parts of the data warehouse, and some training on navigating Level 0 and starting to review errors in Level 0 This session will be an in person only session, and while some materials may be distributed afterwords, no recording of this session will be available.

2. SPRING TESTING WORKSHOP

Please join us for an overview of the NYS 3-8 ELA, Mathematics, NYSAA, NYSESLAT, and Science testing process for the Spring testing season. We will cover all the changes to the testing calendar, CBT and PBT testing information, OSC Vendor Scoring and a timeline of all the key dates in the spring testing season. The first half of the meeting will focus on Computer-based testing, and in the second half we will cover Paper-based testing and OSC Vendor Scoring topics for those who utilize those services. This session will be recorded, and all presentation materials, as well as the recording, will be available afterwards.

5. March Badgeness: Agency in Action

March Badgeness is a month-long online professional development experience in which teachers will have the opportunity to earn badges each week by completing short, asynchronous tasks. This year's focus, Agency in Action, is aligned with the New York State Portrait of a Graduate and centers on designing learning experiences that foster student ownership, voice, and independence. Throughout the month, participants will explore instructional strategies and digital practices that support key Portrait of a Graduate competencies including initiative, self-direction, collaboration, critical thinking, and adaptability. Educators will engage in reflection and hands-on application as they examine how intentional classroom design such as opportunities for choice, goal-setting, feedback, and reflection can empower students to take an active role in their learning. By emphasizing practical, sustainable shifts in instructional practice, March Badgeness: Agency in Action supports teacher growth while helping develop learners who are prepared to succeed in future academic, career, and life experiences.

A data placement "displays thematically grouped data designed to encourage stakeholder interaction with collected data and to promote the concretion of meaning under the facilitative guidance of the evaluator. Each placemat represents the data using visual elements such as charts, graphs, and quotes and draws on best practices of data and information to format these elements" (Pankaj & Emery, p. 81). Please note, for the purposes of this session, the evaluator is the data meeting leader. Are you interested in giving data placemats a try? If so, please join Dr. Amy Konz to design your own data placemat.
