This class teaches the impacts of success criteria and learning targets on helping students and educators clearly define the goals and standards for learning. This class focuses on creating success criteria, which describes how students can demonstrate they've met the learning targets. It provides the specific behaviors, actions, or evidence that show mastery. The class would explain how to create success criteria that align with the learning targets, making it easier for students to understand what they need to do to succeed. This course empowers educators to harness the power of Artificial Intelligence (AI) through district-approved, user-friendly tools like Canva, Book Creator, and Google Gemini. Designed for teachers at all levels of tech proficiency, the course offers practical, hands-on experience in using these tools to enhance lesson planning, instruction, and student engagement. Participants will explore how Canva can be used to create visually compelling instructional materials, how Book Creator fosters student voice and creativity through interactive digital publishing, and how Google Gemini acts as a powerful AI collaborator for research, brainstorming, and content generation. Through guided projects and collaborative discussions, educators will learn to integrate these AI-enhanced tools into their curriculum in ways that support differentiation, creativity, and real-world learning. Course Description: Throughout this course, educators will deepen their understanding of culturally responsive teaching (CRT) by exploring the research and strategies outlined in Zaretta Hammond's Culturally Responsive Teaching and the Brain. Educators will reflect on their own teaching practices, examine how culture and cognition intersect, and develop tools to create more equitable and engaging learning environments. Through self-reflection, case studies, and instructional planning, participants will refine their approach to curriculum, instruction, and student support, fostering independent learning and increasing student success. This course aims to enhance your ability to mix 3D design and 3D printing into your classroom. Walkthrough the entire creative process from ideation to prototyping to final printed product. Gain experience with the free, web-based program TinkerCAD.com. Learn about the time, cost and level of difficulty for completing a range of projects for a single student or a whole class. Find out where free models are available, ready to be printed. No prior experience with 3D printing technology is needed. Learning Objectives: Walkthrough the entire process of 3d printing an object from idea to final product. Identify opportunities to enhance current curriculum with 3D design and 3D printing technology. Though there are many criticisms and labels given to UbD or Understanding by Design templates and course structures , the overwhelming research shows that when teachers plan using this method , they are ensuring the curriculum , content , and assessment are aligned with specific student outcomes and transferable skills. And in addition to its clear cut path to successful teaching strategies , the UbD framework ensures that students will be able to effectively reveal his or her understanding. UbD allows for students and teachers to focus on complex tasks , authentic opportunities to learn and explain , interpret , apply , shift perspective , empathize , and self-assess. Educators in this course will examine the pros and cons of Understanding by Design and determine whether this framework and its provided templates can work in the classroom. This course introduces educators to the Pre-Referral Intervention Manual (PRIM) by Stephen McCarney, a comprehensive resource for addressing the most common learning and behavior challenges in today's classrooms. Participants will explore practical, evidence-based interventions designed to support students before formal referral. Through guided practice, collaboration, and hands-on application, educators will create personalized Classroom Tool Kits filled with strategies to address academic, social-emotional, and behavioral needs. By the end of the course, participants will be equipped with ready-to-use interventions that foster positive outcomes for all learners while reducing the need for formal referrals. This course is designed to help classroom teachers integrate creativity and learning through artistic expression into their curriculum. Bringing in the perspective of an art educator, teachers will look at the New York State Standards and brainstorm ways to enhance learning through creating. Teachers will share ideas and develop cross-curricular strategies to make topics more interesting and cater to various learning styles. This session continues the conversation on the impacts of implicit bias, microaggressions, and stereotypes. Participants will explore more strategies to challenge and confront microaggressions and stereotypes in ways that will allow them to amplify their voice and conviction. In this session, participants will continue to explore more ways to create the space to talk about the impact of problematic language and/or behavior. As educator leaders, we must be ready and able to engage in the necessary conversations to advance racial justice in our schools, communities, and associations. A consequence of COVID-19 has been the inability of students and teachers to simply return to education as usual. The months-long hiatus from in-person instruction has, potentially, had a detrimental impact on both how students feel about their teachers and their learning, and how teachers feel about their ability to teach the same way they did before remote learning. Questions arise about how to reach struggling students, and it seems systemic changes to education are needed. But while we wait for those sweeping changes, what can we do to encourage teachers, find support, and, most urgently, address student issues that threaten to derail our classroom structures?
