This training prepares individuals to take on the role of a paraprofessional in the classroom setting. Those who attend will learn about the responsibilities of a paraprofessional and accessible resources. They will also review student characteristics that may require their support and assistance within the classroom. Paraprofessionals who attend this training will learn how to read an IEP, BIP and ICMP so they can readily support the teacher and students by being able to identify required accommodations and supports within those documents.

*Lunch will be on your own for 1 hour.

32. Portrait of a Graduate - Onboarding and Planning

This workshop is for administrators, other leaders, counselors--anyone involved in the roll out of the Portrait of a Graduate. The Board of Regents will be sharing new information this summer and fall and this workshop will be an exploration of what's been shared and approved. This session will go over all of the newest information from NYSED and approved by the Board of Regents at the November meeting. While this is a half-day overview, participants and teams may choose to stay in the afternoon for group planning.
