1. Social Studies Consortium

Program: Professional Development/Instructional Support Services (CSIPD)

This consortium will be an opportunity for educators to meet and discuss current trends in Social Studies for the 2025-2026 school year. This will allow teachers to work through aligning current standards with lessons and projects. Each session will be from 9:00am to 2:00pm.

10. NYS Portrait of a Graduate & Inquiry-Based Learning in PreK-Grade 5

Program: Professional Development/Instructional Support Services (CSIPD)

This event, which will be a hybrid webinar with in-person discussion and presentations, will provide New York State administrators and school leaders with an opportunity to engage in regional discussions about what the NYS Portrait of a Graduate means in PreK to Grade 5, as well as how this connects to inquiry-based learning. Please note that to attend this event, you must attend in person at a BOCES or Big 5 designated site.

12. SLS Council, Coordinators Meeting & PD

Program: School Library System

Dates: 2/9/2026

The main function of the communication coordinators (individually and as a group) is to provide two-way communication between the member libraries and the school library system. The communication coordinator meetings will share information on system programs, procedures, data collection, and provide professional development. They will also bring the needs of school library system users (students, faculty and administrators) to the attention of the school library system council and director. The School Library System Council will work with the director to recommend policy; do long-range and short-range planning, including overseeing the development of the system's Plan of Service; approve the annual system budget and the system's annual report; and evaluate the system's services. In the morning there will be professional development. The Communication Coordinators meeting and council meeting will be held from 12:30-3:00. These meetings are open to all library staff. If you are a Communication Coordinator or Council member and you cannot attend a scheduled Communication Coordinators/council meeting, you are encouraged to send another LMS from your district in your absence.

Day Three will see us spending some time with the stakeholder feedback we collected. We will create district-specific action plans based on that feedback. We will also review any new information from state ed and begin discussions about what we hope to accomplish in Year 2 of this work.
