Join this engaging online course to explore NotebookLM, Google's powerful AI-driven tool designed to help organize information, analyze sources, and generate ideas. Educators will learn how NotebookLM can quickly create summaries, study guides, discussion questions, and lesson materials from documents you already use.
This course will demonstrate practical ways teachers can use NotebookLM to save time with planning, support student research and writing, and enhance classroom learning. Teachers from all grade levels and subject areas are encouraged to enroll, as the strategies shared can be applied across a wide range of classrooms and content areas. Discover how this new Google tool can make your teaching more efficient and your lessons more engaging!

2. [Learning in the Age of AI: Level 2] Google AI Series - Using Gemini in Google Classroom to Support ELA (Online, Self Paced)

This self-paced online course will introduce how Gemini AI in Google Classroom can support middle and high school ELA instruction. We will explore how to create rubrics, relevel texts, craft compelling hooks, visualize concepts, design comics, and generate audio lessons to help students master central-idea essays and literary analysis. These tools aim to save teachers time while providing personalized, dynamic learning experiences for diverse learners.

3. TEMPLATE How Language Impacts Learning for ELL/ML Learners

The focus of this course is to provide educators with the understanding on how to make content comprehensible for ELLs/MLLs.
Course Purpose

Objective 1: Participants will understand key research and concepts that support instruction of ELLs, such as Comprehensible Input, Scaffolded Supports and Home Language Supports.

Objective 2: Participants will identify key strategies to support ELLs in Content Area classes.

Objective 3: Participants will have understanding of ways to increase student engagement and connections, thereby develop stronger relationships with ELLs online.

NOTE: This course is 100% online and will take approximately 5 hours to complete. This course begins on July 1, and participants have until June 30, 2027, to complete all required assignments and activities to receive CTLE credit.

This course is designed and provided by NYSCATE and utilizes the Canvas Learning Management System. Upon registration, you will receive an email from NYSCATE with instructions on how to enroll in your course. This course is self-paced and upon successful completion, you will be marked complete in PLM. All NYSCATE courses have rolling enrollment. Registrants will be emailed on Wednesdays with confirmation of registration.

During the virtual certification sessions, we begin with the big picture-understanding the system, your role as organization administrators, and how to effectively manage professional learning within the platform. Participants will explore how to streamline processes to support professional development tracking, compliance, and staff growth.

Topics include managing users, configuring activity catalogs, assigning and approving activities, tracking participation and completion, utilizing tools and reports to monitor progress, and supporting educators in meeting professional learning requirements.

Who Should Attend:
Those who manage the back end of the PLM solution and perform tasks including:
* adding/inactivating staff
* managing activity catalogs and sessions
* approving requests and completions
* running reports

Elevated Rights for Participants:

This beginner-friendly workshop moves beyond basic templates to explore Canva's Magic Studio-an integrated suite of AI tools designed to streamline content creation. Educators will learn how to use AI to instantly translate classroom materials into multiple languages, convert text prompts into custom educational imagery, and generate presentation outlines in seconds. Anchored in UDL principles, we will focus on designing highly accessible, visually engaging learning artifacts (such as interactive choice boards and infographics) that support diverse learners and offer students dynamic new ways to demonstrate their knowledge.

Join LHRIC Model Schools and Apple Education for a high-energy, 1.5-day summer institute designed to turn educators into creators. Forget the standard slide decks-this is a "DIY" workshop where we strip down the most powerful tools in macOS and iOS to build something meaningful.
On Day One, we dive deep into the toolkit. You'll master everything from "All About Me" Pop Art in Photos to stop-motion animation in Keynote and podcasting in GarageBand.
On Day Two, the studio is yours. You'll synthesize your new skills into DIY Project Cards-quick-start, swappable activity templates that you can trade with fellow participants. You'll walk away not just with new skills, but with a physical (and digital) deck of ready-to-use projects to spark creativity in your classroom this fall.
