1. Teach Students to Change Behaviors Through Self-Monitoring

In classroom settings, self-monitoring offers several advantages. Self-monitoring requires that the student be an active participant in the intervention, with responsibility for measuring and evaluating his or her behaviors. Also, in order to accurately self-evaluate behaviors, the student must first learn the teacher's behavioral expectations. That ability of a child or youth to understand and internalize the behavioral expectations of others is a milestone in the development of social skills. Finally, student self-monitoring data is typically economical to collect, even in a busy classroom, and can often be used to document the success of a behavioral intervention.

LETRS (Language Essentials for Teachers of Reading and Spelling) units address each essential component of reading instruction and the foundational concepts that link each component.This Vol. 2 professional learning learning series focuses specifically on oral language and vocabulary, understanding reading comprehension, text-driven comprehension instruction, and the reading-writing connection. Completion of LETRS Vol. 1 (Units 1-4) is a prerequisite to Vol. 2. The 'blended learning' format of Vol. 2 series includes four face-to-face training dates and an online course license (through Lexia Learning) that includes tutorials/videos of effective classroom instruction. Aspire® is a professional development opportunity designed for all educators who teach middle school (grades 6-9). This training equips ELA & content-area teachers in implementing adaptable, evidence-based strategies rooted in the Science of Reading to assist students with improving their reading and writing. Aspire® empowers educators with the knowledge and tools needed to support students struggling with literacy, fostering proficient readers and writers in the classroom. What to expect when you enroll in Aspire® This training offers educators essential background knowledge and practical strategies to build students' reading and writing proficiency. This training requires a one-year commitment consisting of the following: -Attending a virtual Aspire® Kick-off in July or at the beginning of August -Participating in three face-to-face training sessions -Completing online training & Bridge to Application activities All work must be completed by May 15th. LETRS for Early Childhood Educators is a professional learning experience for pre-K and Kindergarten teachers that provides deep knowledge of early literacy instruction. 25. Navigating Elementary Behaviors

56. Special Education Compliance Monitoring Self-Assessment Training

This will be a full day training designed to assist public agencies in preparation for their Special Education Tiered Monitoring review process. The training will describe the self-assessment process and the use of the IMACS 2.0 system. During the morning session, a DESE Compliance Supervisor will join us and we will go over the technical aspects of self-assessment and how to use IMACS 2.0 properly to complete the required activities. After lunch, we will go over the indicators that will be part of the self-assessment and discuss ways to ensure compliance with those indicators. The Student Course Planner is an integral part in the development of a student's ICAP. This training is specifically for those that have been through RYA Training 101 or Bootcamp 101, and are coordinating an RYA program. In this training, participants will take a deeper dive into: Appendix A Work Processes; building Employability Skills; Employer/Industry Recruitment; Educating Parents & Students on RYA; getting Administrator Buy-In; utilizing Career Connections & other career exploration resources; utilizing Chamber of Commerce & Economic Development; Rapids 2.0 navigation; WIOA Supports & Missouri Job Center; working with Career Pathways Externships & grants; beyond graduation & sustainability; working with the Mentor; coordinator networking; and working with related-training providers outside of the school district. This workshop offers a step-by-step guide to completing thorough and successful FBA and BIPs for IEP students experiencing severe behaviors. Participants will receive information on how to successfully: * Use data to determine target behaviors and create a functional hypothesis * Analyze ABC data to determine the function of behavior and choose the best antecedent and consequence interventions. * Write an FBA and BIP Participants will receive examples of forms to use throughout the FBA and BIP process. This session is designed for Special Education Teachers, Process Coordinators, Administrators, or others conducting FBAs on IEP students. Registration and a light breakfast will begin at 8:30. 66. Transition Academy: Prepping Students for Life

How do I prepare my student(s) to transition to the next phase of life? Participants will learn to use valuable resources to support students in the college or career readiness planning process for their future. The Transition Academy is designed to help educators plan for college and career readiness and positive postsecondary outcomes for students with an lEP. The components to be addressed during the academy are lndicator 13, the transition compliance portion of the student's lEP, how to plan for post-secondary outcomes and the framework and practice of how to include self-determination strategies and skills during instruction. Specific components provided in greater detail will be Transition Assessments and Services and to teach students to participate in the planning process of their future. The cost is $70 and includes parking and lunch for BOTH days. Training will begin promptly at 9:00. Working lunch will be served around 11:30 or 12:00 and you will be done by 3:00 P.M. Both days will be at Plaster Student Union Room 315 on MSU campus. Directions and parking passes will be emailed before the workshop.

67. SW*MELL Meet Up December 2025 - All things WIDA and ACCESS

FOCUS on resources available through WIDA and discussion about how to prepare for, facilitate, and benefit from the ACCESS assessment. Bring your lunch and connect with educators of English language learners. We will have a focus each meeting as well as time set aside to collaborate and talk with others who are doing what you do! Location of the meeting will be announced before the date.

68. Manifestation Determination and Alternatives to Suspension

This training will provide alternatives to suspension that help keep struggling students engaged in the academic environment. For circumstances requiring removal, Compliance Consultants will provide guidance on the data to review when making a manifestation determination, as well as how to document suspensions while remaining compliant with IDEA. This workshop is intended for administrators and special education directors. Registration and a light breakfast will begin at 8:30. Lunch and parking are included.
