1. New To Special Education: So Much to Learn!

Special Education Boot Camp- 2 day training This basic training is developed with new special education professionals in mind and focuses on the areas of most common noncompliance including, but not limited to, discipline, IEP development andevaluations and reevaluations. Provides hands-on training using the model forms, the Standards and Indicators Manual and the State Plan for Special Education. (This does not meet the credentialing requirements for Beginning Teacher Assistance Program) Participants will receive information to support them in the following areas: Day 1 - July 22 SPED Process - Golden Thread Referral Review of Existing Data Eligibility Criteria including Observations Evaluation including Negative Education Impact Day 2 - July 23 IEP Present Level Goals (SMART) Progress Monitoring - Data Collection Additional Topics Parent Communication Collaborating with Peers Other Documentation The cost for the training will $60 for the 2 day training. The Professional Partnerships: Co-teaching training will provide an opportunity for teams to learn the art of co-teaching. The participants will study roles, responsibilities, approaches, and benefits of professional partnerships in the classroom. Effective implementation of co-teaching impacts the learning of all students. This training will focus on building a strong foundation for effective co-teaching. Dedicated time will be provided for team planning and questions to help participants take meaningful next steps in strengthening co-teaching practices within their buildings. Strong teams consist of the general educator and the special educator and building administrator. Parking and Lunch included in price. 3. Paraprofessional Training

The purpose of this paraprofessional training is to define major responsibilities of a paraprofessional in the educational setting, confidentiality, communication, teamwork, behavior management, and ways to prompt students, etc. We will review the special education process in order to develop a basic understanding of the process and how students are found eligibile and discuss how to best support the students with whom paraprofessionals work. This training will be offered July 29, August 4th and August 6th- You only need to attend ONE session. Sign up for the day you want to attend. The cost is $50 and includes parking and lunch. Training will begin promptly at 9:00. Working lunch will be served around 11:30 or 12:00 and you will be done by 3:00 P.M.

4. Hands on Skills Training- Project Access

Utilizes Behavior Skills Training Model to teach participants how to use evidence-based practice materials and strategies in their classroom. 7. 504 Training with Betsey Helfrich

Betsey Helfrich, Attorney, will be here on September 1st from 9:00 - 11:30 to talk about the 504 referral process. From referral to drafting the plan, this presentation will review each step of the 504 process and also examine the anticipated new Section 504 regulations. With practical tips, mock scenarios, and real case examples, this presentation will help provide a deeper understanding to counselors, 504 coordinators, and general education administrators of how to improve your Section 504 process at your school. The cost is $70 and we must have at least 40 paid registrations for the event to make. An email will be sent with a map of the location and a parking pass to print.

11. Special Education New Directors' Group

The New Directors' and New PC Group will meet periodically throughout the 26-27 school year to discuss a variety of topics and build relationships with other new directors and new process coordinators. You will register for each session individually (9/15/26 (virtual), 10/28/26 (in-person), 12/8/26(virtual), and 4/8/27(in-person), so look for all four of the dates in Frontline to register for what you can attend. You do not have to attend all four - you may pick and choose based on your schedule. This is for the 9/15/26 virtual training. This will be a Q & A time, and important updates will be shared. We will review the transfer process for in-state and out-of-state students and common compliance issues. The virtual training time will be 9:00-11:00 with no cost.

15. Process Coordinator Networking

The Process Coordinator Networking Meeting provides an opportunity for special education process coordinators, compliance specialists, and district administrators to collaborate, share updates, and strengthen practices aligned with the Missouri State Plan and Standards & Indicators. Participants will review current compliance guidance, discuss DESE updates, and exchange effective strategies for ensuring high-quality IEP development, evaluation procedures, and documentation. The meeting will include time for regional collaboration, Q&A on common compliance challenges, and sharing of district systems or forms that promote efficiency and consistency. We will meet virtually.

17. Leading for Impact: Effective Administrative Observation & Feedback of SPED Teachers and the Role of the LEA

Participants will examine what to look for when observing SPED instruction, how to distinguish compliance from meaningful instructional practices, and how effective feedback can strenghten special education programs. The training will also clarify the responsibilities of the LEA in the IEP process and how strong leadership can support teachers while maintaining legal and instructional integrity. 18. Meeting Students Where They Are: Differentiation, Accommodations, and Modifications

Differentiation is an instructional process in which teachers proactively transform instruction, learning activities, and student products to maximize each student's growth and individual success by meeting their learning needs. 19. Special Education Eligibility: Making Quality Eligibility Determinations

The focus of this workshop will be on the evaluation process from pre-referral to eligibility. We will look at how decisions are being made regarding which students to evaluate, how to determine what information needs to be gathered through assessments, observations and then how to use that information in eligibility decisions. Information regarding the content of evaluation reports, based on the standards and indicators, will also be included. The training will be a 2-day training. The training will begin at 9:00 AM and end by 3:00 PM. Cost is $60.00 and includes lunch and parking.

20. Cohort 3 Corrective Action Plan (CAP) Technical Assistance Workshop

If you are a Cohort 3 district that just received your Tiered Monitoring results and are now saying what next? - This is the workshop for you. Cohort 3 Districts with identified areas of noncompliance must complete specific action steps during the Corrective Action Plan (CAP) Year. This session provides technical assistance on how to write and submit plans of correction, complete the required activities for clearing areas of noncompliance, and provide evidence of correction. Participants will need laptops and User Manager access in IMACs 2.0. One/one technical assistance will be available for writing plans of correction. We will begin at 9:00 AM, and the day will end by 12:00 p.m. Cost is $25 per person and includes a morning snack and parking pass. We will meet at Missouri State University, Hill Hall, Room 402. 21. Special Education Compliance Monitoring Self-Assessment Training- Cohort 1

This training is designed for districts that will be going through self-assessment during 2026-2027 (Cohort 1). This will be a full-day training designed to assist public agencies in preparation for their Special Education Tiered Monitoring review process. The training will describe the self-assessment process and the use of the IMACS 2.0 system. The DESE Compliance Supervisor will join us, and we will go over the technical aspects of self-assessment and how to use IMACS 2.0 properly to complete the required activities. We will begin at 9:00 AM, and the day will end by 12:00 p.m. Cost is $25 per person and includes your parking pass. We will meet at Missouri State University, Plaster Student Union. Parking passes will be emailed to you to print and put in your vehicle before the workshop. 22. Special Education New Directors' Group

If you are the new Process Coordinator at a small district where you are responsible for the director's responsibilities, I encourage you to attend. You will register for each session individually (9/15/26- Virtual, 10/28/26-in person, 12/8/26- virtual, 4/7/27- in person), so look for all four of the dates in Frontline to register for what you can attend. You do not have to attend all four - you may pick and choose based on your schedule. This is for the October 28th in-person training, which will be from 9 to 12. We will review transfers, beginning-of-year tasks, and have a time for Q & A. We will meet at Missouri State University, Hill Hall, Room 402. 23. Engaging Instruction for Students who Access MAP-A: Make-It & Take It

Training will be focused on hands-on professional learning. The session is designed for special educators who teach students participating in the MAP-Alternate (MAP-A) assessment. Participants will explore practical strategies for aligning instruction to Missouri's Essential Elements, embedding access skills, and promoting engagement through meaningful, standards-based learning activities, and lesson development. Through modeling, discussion, and collaboration, educators will learn how to design instructional tasks that connect to real MAP-A testlets, promote active student response, and support communication and participation for all learners. The Make It & Take It portion of the workshop gives participants the opportunity to create ready-to-use instructional materials that can be immediately implemented in the classroom. All materials will be aligned to Missouri Learning Standards and Essential Elements. By the end of the session, participants will: Understand how to plan instruction aligned with MAP-A Essential Elements. Apply evidence-based strategies to support communication, engagement, and independence. Create classroom-ready materials for individualized instruction and progress monitoring. Leave with a toolkit of adaptable Make-It-and-Take-It resources for use across grade levels and subject areas. The cost is $60 and includes parking and lunch. Training will begin promptly at 9:00. 24. Transition Academy: Prepping Students for Life

How do I prepare my student(s) to transition to the next phase of life? Participants will learn to use valuable resources to support students in the college or career readiness planning process for their future. The Transition Academy is designed to help educators plan for college and career readiness and positive postsecondary outcomes for students with an lEP. The components to be addressed during the academy are lndicator 13, the transition compliance portion of the student's lEP, how to plan for post-secondary outcomes and the framework and practice of how to include self-determination strategies and skills during instruction. Specific components provided in greater detail will be Transition Assessments and Services and to teach students to participate in the planning process of their future. The cost is $70 and includes parking and lunch for BOTH days. Training will begin promptly at 9:00. Working lunch will be served around 11:30 or 12:00 and you will be done by 3:00 P.M.
