LETRS (Language Essentials for Teachers of Reading and Spelling) units address each essential component of reading instruction and the foundational concepts that link each component.This Vol. 2 professional learning learning series focuses specifically on oral language and vocabulary, understanding reading comprehension, text-driven comprehension instruction, and the reading-writing connection. Completion of LETRS Vol. 1 (Units 1-4) is a prerequisite to Vol. 2. The 'blended learning' format of Vol. 2 series includes four face-to-face training dates and an online course license (through Lexia Learning) that includes tutorials/videos of effective classroom instruction. The Missouri Leadership Development System (MLDS) is an important component to support the effort of all buildings.

Regional networking sessions support the implementation and growth of GYO teacher recruitment programs in all Missouri school districts and charter schools. The state MTDS GYO Coordinator, Sandy Humbyrd, a former Ed Pathways Dual Credit Class Teacher & Ed Club Sponsor, who completed doctoral work on Missouri's GYO programs, will be facilitating network gatherings.

"MAP-A for All Professionals” learning builds participant knowledge in the process of completing the Dynamic Learning Maps (DLM) for our students with the most significant cognitive disabilities. Teachers learn to utilize the process and components of this assessment, including the use of the educator portal, to embed the essential elements from the DLM into daily instructional opportunities for students. Aspire® is a professional development opportunity designed for all educators who teach middle school (grades 6-9). This training equips ELA & content-area teachers in implementing adaptable, evidence-based strategies rooted in the Science of Reading to assist students with improving their reading and writing. Aspire® empowers educators with the knowledge and tools needed to support students struggling with literacy, fostering proficient readers and writers in the classroom. What to expect when you enroll in Aspire® This training offers educators essential background knowledge and practical strategies to build students' reading and writing proficiency. This training requires a one-year commitment consisting of the following: -Attending a virtual Aspire® Kick-off in July or at the beginning of August -Participating in three face-to-face training sessions -Completing online training & Bridge to Application activities All work must be completed by May 15th. Participants must attend all three of the face-to-face sessions and the virtual kick-off.

The goal is to gather around issues of district-wide leadership, program development, and implementation of initiatives, including professional development, teacher recruitment, administrative matters, etc. The topics will be up to you, and we will listen and learn from each other. LETRS for Early Childhood Educators is a professional learning experience for pre-K and Kindergarten teachers that provides deep knowledge of early literacy instruction. Teachers gain new skills to help young learners build a literacy foundation before they even learn to read or write. This professional learning experience: *Helps teachers understand the development of oral language, print knowledge, alphabet learning, and writing skills. *Provides the "why” and "how” of early literacy instruction across all domains: language, literacy, cognitive, motor, social, and emotional. *Empowers teachers to apply best practice strategies to guide children's learning.This dynamic blended learning experience includes three components: LETRS Online Learning Platform LETRS for Early Childhood Educators Print Manual LETRS for Early Childhood Educators Professional Learning Sessions (Live In-Person or Live Online). 24. Navigating Elementary Behaviors

This full day workshop is designed to help elementary teachers support students with big behaviors. Teachers will gain strategies in the following areas: proactive classroom management, function based thinking, responding to students during and after behaviors, communicating with parents, and addressing missing behavioral skills. 55. Special Education Compliance Monitoring Self-Assessment Training

This will be a full day training designed to assist public agencies in preparation for their Special Education Tiered Monitoring review process. The training will describe the self-assessment process and the use of the IMACS 2.0 system. During the morning session, a DESE Compliance Supervisor will join us and we will go over the technical aspects of self-assessment and how to use IMACS 2.0 properly to complete the required activities. After lunch, we will go over the indicators that will be part of the self-assessment and discuss ways to ensure compliance with those indicators. We will begin at 9:00 AM and the day will end by 3:00 at the latest. Cost is $35 per person and includes lunch and parking. We will meet at Missouri State University, Plaster Student Union, Room 313. The Student Course Planner is an integral part in the development of a student's ICAP. Course Planner allows students to choose a district-defined pathway, which populates recommended courses across grade/subject levels. Participants will learn to use valuable resources to support students in the college or career readiness planning process for their future. The Transition Academy is designed to help educators plan for college and career readiness and positive postsecondary outcomes for students with an lEP. The components to be addressed during the academy are lndicator 13, the transition compliance portion of the student's lEP, how to plan for post-secondary outcomes and the framework and practice of how to include self-determination strategies and skills during instruction. Specific components provided in greater detail will be Transition Assessments and Services and to teach students to participate in the planning process of their future.
