LETRS® for Early Childhood Educators equips teachers with research-based strategies to support young children's early literacy and language development. This three-day series explores the foundational skills needed for reading and writing success, including oral language, phonological awareness, alphabet learning, and early writing. Participants will engage in hands-on practice and learn assessment and instructional techniques applicable to any curriculum. Aspire® is a professional development opportunity designed for all educators who teach middle school (grades 6-9). This training equips ELA and content-area teachers in implementing adaptable, evidence-based strategies rooted in the Science of Reading to assist students with improving their reading and writing. Aspire® empowers educators with the knowledge and tools needed to support students struggling with literacy, fostering proficient readers and writers in the classroom. What to expect when you enroll in Aspire® This training offers educators essential background knowledge and practical strategies to build students' reading and writing proficiency. This training requires a one-year commitment consisting of: Attending a virtual Aspire®, a kick-off in July or at the beginning of August, participating in four face-to-face training sessions, completing online training, and Bridge to Application activities. All work must be completed by May 31. Participants must attend all four of the face-to-face sessions and the virtual kick-off.

17. Science of Reading for Paraprofessionals

This training is designed to equip paraprofessionals with a foundational understanding of the science of reading and its practical application in supporting students' literacy development. Participants will explore the components of reading instruction, including phonemic awareness, phonics, vocabulary, fluency, and comprehension. By the end of the training, paraprofessionals will have practical tools and a deeper understanding of how to support the reading process, empowering them to play a key role in helping all students become confident, successful readers.

18. Designing Your Comprehensive Literacy Plan: A Framework and Self-Assessment for LEAs - Training Series

Description: This learning opportunity is designed for LEAs starting or developing a comprehensive literacy plan (CLP). The training helps districts understand literacy improvement purposes and effectively use Steps to Success Guidance materials to create K-12 literacy plans based on Comprehensive Literacy Needs Assessment results. This framework provides administrators and teachers with guidance on integrating literacy instruction with state standards and evidence-based practices for long-term student success. Enrollment requires commitment to four trainings: two in-person and two virtual sessions over the school year. We request district leadership and literacy leaders attend (minimum two per district). This partnership agreement and commitment consists of: -scheduling and participating in the initial training on Frontline through your RPDC (a half day training) and using the contact information provided during the training to arrange additional support as needed. -committing to meeting with and communicating with your local literacy team on a scheduled basis to have the collaborative conversations needed to complete the Comprehensive Literacy Needs Assessment in order to advance the CLP progress. -accepting and scheduling RPDC check-in support (see virtual dates and times already provided in the Frontline information) as the literacy team works through the CLNA to develop a CLP to communicate progress and troubleshoot issues. RPDC facilitators will host 4 meetings (two in-person, two virtual) and participants must attend the initial meeting and at least two other meetings. These may be regional or local. -communicating to local stakeholders the outcome and goals of the CLP and the next steps. We recommend that LEAs send at least two representatives from their district from either their literacy team, building leadership, or administration.
