Dates: 7/29/2026

Model Schools
Participating Schools: Addison, Bath, Campbell-Savona, Corning-Painted Post, Elmira, Elmira Heights, GST BOCES, Hammondsport, Horseheads, Odessa-Montour, Prattsburgh, Spencer-Van Etten, Watkins Glen, & Waverly. The biggest challenge in the 3D printing classroom isn't the printer itself-it's the design. This hands-on session is dedicated to the "Pre-Flight" phase of the maker process: turning a creative spark into a technically sound, 3D-printable file. While we won't be running the machines during this session, we will be diving deep into the "Think-Design-Slice" workflow. You will learn how to guide students through the complexities of spatial reasoning and geometric constraints to ensure that once they do hit "print," the result is a success rather than a "spaghetti" mess. We will focus on creating manifold designs and mastering the slicing settings that turn a Tinkercad model into a set of instructions a printer can actually follow.
