From Standards to Impact: Advancing CS/DF Through NY Inspires & the Portrait of a Graduate

What's next for the New York State Computer Science and Digital Fluency Standards? Join us for a full-day immersive professional learning experience focused on moving beyond awareness and into meaningful, sustainable integration across all content areas.
The day begins with a high-impact morning session facilitated by PBLWorks, where participants will explore Gold Standard Project-Based Learning. Educators will design authentic, student-centered learning experiences that naturally embed CS/DF skills while supporting deeper learning aligned to NY Inspires and the NYS Portrait of a Graduate.
After lunch, participants will choose from collaborative breakout sessions designed to extend and apply the morning learning. Sessions will focus on integrating CS/DF standards across disciplines, and designing performance-based assessments connected to real-world application and Portrait of a Graduate competencies.
Throughout the day, participants will:
Connect CS/DF standards to NY Inspires and Portrait of a Graduate competencies such as critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and innovation
Experience high-quality PBL design with a focus on authenticity, inquiry, and student voice
Apply learning in collaborative breakout sessions tailored to K-12 classrooms and leadership contexts
Design interdisciplinary learning experiences integrating CS/DF into core content areas
Explore AI and digital tools that support engaging, standards-aligned PBL experiences
Collaborate with peers to develop classroom-ready resources and implementation ideas
This experience is ideal for Teachers, librarians, instructional coaches, and school leaders ready to align standards, initiatives, and instructional practices to create future-ready learning environments.
Continental breakfast and lunch are provided. Each attendee will receive a PBL Works Workbook.
